I have decided instead of flashing my Rom back to original old one & update to the official 2.1, I will like to try flash to VillainRom 12.0.0 Final base on Andrew's guide.

Official Rooted Taiwan ROM 2.1 - This one is the official 2.1 Taiwan ROM. But rooted for you already by the MoDaCo devs.
VillainROM 12.0.0 Final - this one runs fast and has a lot of fancy stuff; Friendstream, Live Wallpapers, 3D Gallery that are taken from Desire/Nexus One. But less stable than the Taiwan ROM.
2) Copy it to your SDCard's top folder (i.e. /sdcard/)
B. Launch AmonRA Recovery Image1) Power off your phone.
2) Turn it on by holding both the
Home and
Power buttons and keep holding until you see the AmonRa recovery application:
C. Backup Your Current ROM (Optional but HIGHLY Recommended)1) Select
Backup/Restore ->
Nand backup.
2) Press
Home button to confirm.
D. Wipe Existing Data (Optional but HIGHLY Recommend) 1) Select
Wipe ->
Wipe data/factory reset.
Home button confirms.
2) Select
Wipe ->
Wipe Dalvik-cache.
Home button confirms.
E. Flash Your New ROM1) Select
Flash zip from sdcard 2) Select your ROM to flash. Press
Home to confirm.
If something goes wrong, you can always revert to your ROM as long as you created a backup (Part C).
1) Select
Backup/Restore ->
Nand restore2) Choose your Device and then the backup you made.
3) Press
Home to confirm restoration of your ROM.
I realised that I have AmonRA in my phone already (previously I did all the steps by following blindly instruction without fully understand them, just want to have MARKET) because I dare to trial & error when I first got the phone cause I do not need to worry bout losing any data
(sms, call log, apps etc)
I have not flash any ROM for 1 year now... and there are many important things (apps , sms, etc) which I must ensure will not be wiped up when i flash to Villain Rom. My question is... If I just flash to Villiam using the AmonRecovery... Will my applications, Sms, other data be wiped out?
STEP D: Wipe Dalvik Cache+ Factory Reset.. = Basically im clearing my phone to Nothing?
Do I have to use different application such as "Sms Backup & Restore" and "My Backup and "APN Backup & Restore" to do a backup first.... > WIPE & RESET> flash to Villain Rom> REinstall all those Backup application.. to recover back all my sms & other applications? Will the WIPE & RESET to factory also wipe away my BACKUPED FILEs???
Im Sorry to sound so worrying because i really have a lot of question marks????? I just cant afford to do a mistake at this point... please advice. Thanks in advance
