My Benq s41 got GPU problem and I got 2 options to repair:

1. Contacted Benq Shah Alam HQ, they said maybe the claim for s41 still available although warranty over, but need to send it by this week. My lappy already change HDD and RAM, summore keyboard missing 2 buttons. I not sure they can accept this for free replacement or not.

2. Send for repair by local shops, however the repair is not guaranteed and this will void the chance to get replacement from Benq.

What should I do?

I just received call from Benq. They agreed to fix my GPU for free, plus I got keyboard replaced by RM108 and RM100 labor charge. Will be picking up next week, yahooo.

Hi, I just get my Benq S41 installed Windows 7 and found that the GPU is 101c when it is idle.
I just get my laptop yesterday from Benq Service Centre.
Is this means that the repair still wont work?

Any recommendation?

I didnt run any software, I just check the temp through HWMonitor.

Wa...send to them again?
By the way, did the heat from the mobo will effect the DVD-RW drive?
It sometimes can detect, sometimes didnt.

Actually my warranty had expired, I am lucky to get the GPU fixed. BTW, they also charge me RM100 for labour. I am thinking of, if I open myself, I can clean the dust and apply better thermalpaste, but this will void the warranty.

I heard some says that the laptop will die after 3 months of fixing, now I know why. The laptop still have dust inside and very hot on GPU.

I am wondering how they open the case where the sticker still intact. I got put some mark on the warranty sticker, so I am sure the sticker is still intact after repair.

I am worry tat is I send to them they might be doing this again (dust everywhere, bad cooling), since they only charge on labour.

My benq S41 starting to die adi. The screen turn blank and have dotted lines. After restart computer, it works fine again.
Now the condition is sometimes can on, sometimes cannot.

Finally, my s41 broke down. Screen full of lines and could not start now.
Back to RMA AGAIN!!!!
It only takes 1 day to proof that the fixing is not working.
