no need la...
dont worry about the virus... brows.gif brows.gif

superviser-do = sudo
it is command to do something that need root privilege
one thing tho, where do you get the command?
copy and paste is ok, since we dunno the language..
but be sure it comes from trusted sources, eg ubuntu forum
there are spell tongue.gif tongue.gif that can erase everything in ur system, just a simple command...

Read my blog why distro sucks

Seriously I am not going to help out if you're using distro. It installs junks and other crap which you dont know

if you want to learn more about BIOSes , Internal hardware and such to tweak it. I recommend doing retail

Buying retail and using distro is like saying , just go buy genuine windows and crack it. Same thing

cant find ur entry about why distro sucks..can give the link?

just try create if it can not install then just go for ext3 lo~
do you separate the /root into another partition ? separate the /home too ?
if you separate it, you may enable different linux version using the same /home to store ur User thing o~ but you need to pick different name for ur account ^^
It's like allowing all different linux verion to access into a single partition.
/root need to install at different place, i use easyBCD to make the bootloader under window. So anything happen to window, all the bootloader will be gone ! that is the problem !!

do you trying all the linux version ? ubuntu x86,x64, fedora 13 x86, x64 , XFCE and so on ? Kubuntu too ???

Added on July 30, 2010, 4:59 pmanyone try back track linux before ?
*
kubuntu i tried, not my favor...may mac user would prefer
normal ubuntu i tried
xfce basically is slim version..since my point is to show off and download stuff, not using it...
and mint currently..no frills, all come in place and good to go~
and no, i not using x64...would be quite painful...

QUOTE(prasys @ Jul 30 2010, 05:50 PM)
You dont need 64-bit linux , 32-bit linux can see your 4GB+ RAM , it has PAE (Google for PAE). It "extends" the RAM , so the OS can see 4GB and above fully.

There is a limitation though , an application could only use up to 4GB of memory. Remember hwen you run an application , the application is limited by bits of the processor. So meaning that an application cant go beyond 4GB of address space.

Since you are not going to solve some computational stuff , its not recommended. Windows is bit funny

I am trying to get more people to jump to linux. Its the best thing to do , yeah i know its slow , and things. But when you jump and enjoy linux. You'll realize that windows is meant for stubborn program

Virtual ? Try VirtualBox - runs both on Linux and Windows ! Not recommended to "Virtualise" Linux in Windows. You can do the other way around and it will be more "secure".

yea...very stubborn..
i cannot run my steam game after i reformat into x64 windows...
my games just keep installing direct x la...framework la...bla bla bla..

Why did you even upgrade - stick with x32 windows 7. If you want to use 4GB of memory there is a patch. its enabled by default in server 2008 32-bit but in windows 7 it was disabled
*
curiosity kills
i am really curious about the different hand on of x64 OS..
thus the upgrade~since my windows was corrupted and needed to do a reformat anyway~

Added on July 30, 2010, 7:55 pmbest thing is, my lappy does not even run a 4gb ram...is only 2gb~
