exactly, now at least this person understands.
dun get me wrong but i'm not running down android, (more than 1 mil sets sold is excellent results).
and i admit i'm not techno-geek, juz a simple smartphone user.

is just that users of iphone and android is very very different;
and it's good dat we actually do have choice. android is same type like winmo in a certain way.
very appealing to geeks and techno-nerds.

apple's iphone has compelled the non techno-geeks and non-nerds to buy smartphones.
*
1. Currently average 160,000 android phones sold every day (up from 100,000 daily average in early 2010), so how come u said only 1 mil sets sold?
2. Winmo for techno-nerds?.. winmo is the most non-preferable choice for geeks, trust me.

No point arguing, soon Android will copy how iPhone (4G) run it multitasking function... It saves hell lot of battery power....   smile.gif

i check my battery usage, 80% - 85% usage is for screen, nothing to do with multitasking.

we can't say anything bad on iPhone.. imagine, i saw someone tried to create a new post regarding on iPhone problem in Mobile Phone section but it has been closed by the mod (they ask him to create post in Apple section).

but when we post something "bad" it Apple section, it will be deleted.

conclusion, if you want to use iPhone, simply listen, obey, and agree with everything they say. they wont listen to the customer. if you can't, then don't use iphone.

from the figure, it is clearly said that iPhone demand will increase in 3rd quarter to 4th quarter every year.. then it will drop again.
but who will going to stop android?
from the figure we can see android will continue increase steadily at a fixed rate, and there is no sign and no factor for the demand to decrease.

same situation war between Mac and Windows in early 90s.. but this time, iphone need to fight with Android (much more "powerful Windows", take not that!)

that is why i refer to Mac VS PCs wars.. Microsoft choose to distribute their OS through various manufacturer, at the end Windows won (95% PCs in this world using Windows).. same to Android, Google choose to make it open and distribute it through hp manufacturers (that explain why Google discontinue Nexus One), while iOS will be exclusively for iPhone only.

iOS also be used in iPad, but Android soon will come out with various tablet similar to iPad, then again iOS will lose.

while Android become matured day by day (similar to iOS now version4 already), we will see the real Android strength in 3.0 (Gingerbread) by year end. it just matter of time, android start a little bit late but is catching up very fast :-)

i am not sure why u are so "skeptical" on Android. what is wrong with android? if i may asking you? you look so "uncomfortable" to see android continue to grow and become matured OS.

this is one example of truly die hard fan of iPhone, i respect his loyalty. steve jobs could run out of business without support from people like him.

anyway, most of topline model will get froyo update in coming weeks. i would say this will reduce the fragmentation issue.

and one more thing, i think we will see much more solid OS in Android3.0 soon, at this point i think Android will become more stable and trusted (escp in Corporate/Enterprise segment), who know with the recent "issue" with blackberry, if they will choose Android as a official mobile platform for their company in the future :-)

conclusion, android is getting better and better everyday, while Kentang can still continue with his beloved iPhone and his philosophy.

desire touch screen so bad? that is too subjective.

i don't have desire to test it, but i have nexus one (desire brother) which i believe the touch screen is similar. and from my experience after using my nexus one for four month, the touch screen is good.

my boss always ask me to help him with his iphone 3gs (his safari browser always hang, and the email not working, each time i have to restart his iphone), so i know how iphone touch screen feels. and nothing so special about iphone touch screen, is almost the same with my nexus one.

I sync my gmail, company email, facebook, and twittee account 24hours a day

- gmail every 15 minutes
- company email (live push update)
- facebook every 10 minutes
- twitter every 10 minutes

Plus, with moderate internet surfing on browser. And very rare to use instant messenger such as yahoo messenger, google talk, facebook chat, and irc chat.

Note: live wallpaper disabled, and no weather widget

I have to charge my nexus twice a day ;-)

For normal voice call on 2g, it doesn't consume lot of battery, for example after few hours on phone call, the battery level only dropped a few percent only.

For backup, don't worry as I have my good old sony ericsson as a 2nd phone. If, in case my nexus die/running out of battery, all phone call will be automatically divert to my sony ericsson (via call forwarding service)

But usually, I manage to charge before it die la. Hehe

battery life is de most important for many ppl. some common examples
1) u dun wanna be caught in de situation where u can't make ur call or send sms bcoz ur fone ran out of juice.
2) constantly look out for powerpoints to charge ur fone.
3) carry xtra battey or two in ur pants or bag.

if android can be smart as iOS developer team to optimize battery life instead of juz use "bulldoze" approach of multi-tasking (just leave program in memory)  and expecting the users to have geeky knowledge or nerdy frens to help dem install task-killers programs...
*
iOS also suck battery maa.. their "optimize" thingy doesn't help much.. but still they think they are very smart sigh~
