Anyway, you should refer back to iOS platform..
After the unlock screen.. then what next come out?
ICONS MENU that need to press one by one to know weather, updated facebook posts or twitter, mailbox and many more that can be achieved by widgets only..
Why this thing happening to iOS? Save battery life? Yes.. but, user friendly? No, not that much..
If you're asking for battery life improvement, more natural touchscreen and high quality of apps..
Think Android will avoid it?? Think twice bro!
But, pity with iOS that suffer from unsupported Flash..
