@unknown warrior.

There's a difference between cannot die one and thrive with optimum health..

If it's just to maintain it 'like that' there. 24w would be enough to sustain my 3feeter lol.

Added on December 10, 2010, 3:22 amNot my best tank.
But just saying this is what i got in 3 months.

110w + 4bps c02, + daily brighty K and step 1 dosing.. (1 pump)

Bukan main main punya health. wakakaka

Added on December 10, 2010, 3:24 amIf you're good with DIY.. add more!

2 1/2 feet, with total wattage from T5 of 150w I dare say you can plant almost everything already =D

It's much more expensive to dose with excel anyway in the long run.

And not all plants accept excel well.

( HC on the other hand.. LOVES excel)

Nope, ottos or amano shrimps dont settle BBA for you..

YOung BBA can be handled by true SAEs..

These big ones. either trim and throw or Excel bombing.

==
prevention is better than cure.

= Have a healthy c02 level in your tank
= balanced fertilizing
= clean filter wool.(with old tank water please. )

The bigger the tank, the cheaper it is as refill cost is very close.

my 6L tank refill cost is just rm 3x . Already running for 17 months for 3 2feet tanks @ 2bps. still strong wahahaha. (backup 2L handy) Main tank running on 4L

Drew

Added on December 19, 2010, 11:28 pmso yea, judging from that, if I were to put in 476 tablets.. ouch. But when fongzai said cheaper in the long run, I doubt he means only monetary costs..
Imagine, just fit a solenoid and you dont really have to care about your c02 dosage anymore. time comes, click, c02 comes, c02 offs = saves c02

and IMHO, (very personal view so dont tank this personal)
I cannot grow HC and Lim Vietnam.. or the rarities like eurios and rotala goais (or at least I dont think I can) with DIY c02 let alone tablets.

Well, every man for himself, What works for me might not work for you and vice versa.

So every opinion here is very subjective lol.

Solenoid 2xx

Manual heads would cost less than 1xx

==

Tank rm 4xx (6L)-mine anyways

The normal 2L ones would set you back to rm 2xx or Fire extinguisher units , some below rm 1xx..

My fish rooms set-up is Rm 700 (including brass 3 way splitter and cheapo diffusers)

Im in this for 5 years and counting. and I still think it's worth it lol.

Added on December 20, 2010, 12:29 amSimply cause I am supplying 3 tanks with continuos c02 and refill rate of once per 20 months..

As I said earlier, Everybody has different consequences and its really subjective.

I wont buy a 6L c02 system for my 5Litre tank even if thats my only tank if thats what youre thinking lol. - most I'd do for a 5L tank is to get a 500ml c02 system + manual head.

Cheers

Like I said, it's not only Monetary cost.

Im quite happy to be able to grow every plant out there successfully. Not just moss.

Added on December 20, 2010, 12:31 amOh And it's just rm 70 for these 5 years for refills.

I'll just defuse this in case this turns ugly.

Its up to each persons needs.

My moss only shrimp tank has no c02 supplement. Still growing.

=====

My 3feet with the most buck with the most plants would consume my 4Litre c02 tank in 4 months easily as I run 7 bubbles per second.

My room tanks consume little hence less.

Just saying that c02 tablets wont be able to sustain my high light 3footer for sure.

Hope you didnt take this personally, Just stating facts
