But the Toxic is using a better PCB which is about 1cm longer than the regular 5850 and with more capacitors for increased endurance when OC'ing.

@sai86,
The Toxic is far superior im hardware built than the rest of the 5850's line, but of course you pay extra for this 'enthusiast' features, and the Toxic cooler I think uses the Vapor-X™ system in cooling, do google up to confirm.
So you gotta decide to go stock or this.
The stock with non-reference cooler also considerable if you don't mind using the stock PCB, like the rest of us here  tongue.gif

Toxic owns better pwm, 4 phase vs reference design 2 phase ( i guess )... but no voltage tweak for the toxic since its analog pwm... which will suffer during OC...

my 4890 still serves well... but suffer lagging in some games...

i might move to 6k series if the performance improvement is good...

currently dont think a good move if moving from 4890 to 5 series... skip 2 generation we might see more improvement...

I am now sticking on options 3 mentioned by JoBigShow bro with my 4890... D-Day is approaching, I still on 4890 and on high settings on some games on 1920*1200 instead of ultra.

Still can delay longer with brutal OC to 1ghz++ since I water cool it. Will consider a change when 6 series is out... laugh.gif

GeForce GTX480 is very hot, very power consuming and noisy even it won't spoil due to this.
Still, you need to take concern about that.
Usually, I saw a lot of enthusiasts in LYN who use GeForce GTX480 will put WC on it.

Most person put wc on it other than temp problem is because 480gtx OC well.. but major concerns in my opinion is the power consumption, u need very powerful PSU. Temp wise, stock cooler will touch very high temp. So 5870 is a better option...
