Definitely Radeon HD6870!
Why? Even though performance is weaker than Dual Radeon HD4870 CFX. However, it's more than enough to max out most games in FULL HD Resolution. Moreover, it supports DirectX 11, Eyefinity(1 GPU can support more than 3 screens), EyeSpeed and AMD HD3D(3D Vision).

If these GeForce GTX460 drop even more, I think those Mid-End GPUs will be freaking cheap until those HTPC(Low-End) GPUs will be pointless to be produced anymore. LOL.

I don't really care about the price drop for GeForce GTX470 since it's a worthless GPU to begin with.

I would focus on Radeon HD7000 or maybe GeForce GTX580. Need to see their performance per value 1st. Also, the games I would play. XD

GeForce GTX470 and Radeon HD6870 should have about the same performance.
Radeon HD6870 is cheaper, cooler, lower power and have more features(Eyefinity, EyeSpeed, HD3D, Stream) only.
GeForce GTX470 is more expensive, hotter, higher power and have some features like PhysX and CUDA.

It's good to hear that Radeon HD6850 and Radeon HD6870 is out performing GeForce GTX460 and GTX470 respectively.

I am more interested on GeForce GTX580 by now.

All shops in LYP will be selling Radeon HD6800-Series GPU sooner or later.

Radeon HD6870 consumes less power than Radeon HD6850 because it has a better chip. It's more like Radeon HD6850 is actually a failed chip that's why it needs extra power.
Similar evidence,
Radeon HD5830 is produced using failed chips from Radeon HD5870. That's why it's consuming a lot of power while have lower performance(lame). But, the price is cheaper of course.

I think Radeon HD6870 is same length as Radeon HD5850 while Radeon HD6850 is same length with Radeon HD5770. hmm.gif

6870 is a beefed up optimized 5770 that is designed to be cheaper than GTX 460 to make and yet performs faster.

Not really, Radeon HD6850 is designed to kick GeForce GTX460. While Radeon HD6870 is to kick GeForce GTX470.
Radeon HD6870 Non-OC still lose to a GeForce GTX470 OC Edition. While Radeon HD6850 Non-OC also lose to a GeForce GTX460 OC Edition.
But, Radeon HD6870/HD5850 OC Edition will make all the difference again! laugh.gif nod.gif

Definitely Radeon HD6870!
Radeon HD5770 2x CFX is worthless as it consumes a lot of power and produced more heat. Moreover, not all games are CFX/SLI supported. Also, you might encounter some games have weird behavior with CFX/SLI as well.

The spoiler for Radeon HD5970 vs GeForce GTX580 is pure rubbish obviously.
It's some TROLLING PHOTOSHOP JOB(Perspective for the 580 is wrong, color also run a bit, same goes to the bottom lines for the Radeon HD5970 and GeForce GTX580).

Nvidia and AMD never work together with each other to con consumers. Don't spread misleading information.

I don't know if you guys know this,

Radeon HD6800 offers 3 major attractive things which are:
a.) AMD Eyefinity 6(supports 6 LCDs).
b.) AMD HD3D(supports 3D Vision like Nvidia did).
c.) AMD EyeSpeed(PhysX from AMD/ATi).

The rest of other minor supports are:
a.) ATi/AMD Stream(OpenCL, OpenGL).
b.) CrossFireX(Superb Scaling like GeForce GTX460 did).
c.) DirectX 11(Improved compared to last time).

Nope. There has been no announced game that would support this physics engine (IINM, called Bullet).

Up till now, AMD has been a pioneer in bringing new stuff to the gaming world, but there's almost no game that utilize those new features (like tessellation in HD4000 series).

FYI, that's no BULLET. It's called AMD EyeSpeed which is a neutral supports for all games which have Physics Calculation if not mistaken.
I think game which support PhysX will also support EyeSpeed.
