Gouki: 16mm is too wide - 24mm really saves you when you're shooting events. The perspective distortion is a lot less at 24mm, too.
gizmo_pony: 29 minutes and 59 seconds, or 2 GB, to circumvent stupid EU laws that define a video camera as anything that records for 30 minutes or more, and gets a leavy tax. I don't know if this applies here but I've never had to record anything in such a long stretch!
Albert, isn't it limited by 32bit only being able to handle 4gb at a time? The Canon's r limited by that, not EU laws or anything like that.

Y u all so obsessed with free gifts when buying camera 1? There's no free lunch 1 ler. All those useless things they give u r heavily added into the price u pay. Just buy the camera n nothing else. Whatever else u want, later only go n buy. They always package very low quality stuff at expensive prices. That's where they make the money.
I even use my NEX at catwalk show. Shot at yesterday's Estee Lauder event. My EOS 1D had the 70-200 f2.8 n was too long for this shot so I quickly whipped out my NEX+Pancake to save the day.
Not a very sharp pic, had to PP a bit. I should have pumped the ISO to get a higher shutter speed. Totally forgot about that as I just took the NEX out from pocket, set aperture n just snapped. Came back n saw 1/30 n was horrified. Oh well, at least I got the shot. Hehe
uncle, i kena poison with fisheye dy. went to zaloon and "accidentally" leave my number there and they called me yesterday saying got stock dy for the adapter. what have i got myself into?
That's not an accident la. U purposely 1. Faster go buy then we do Fisheye session on Friday night TT.

uncle ian, nope, never met him before, dont think seen his nick before too.
zstan, no.15 on the list..
Oh means u join Alpha Thread very late lor. U see back from V2 then u will know. Hehe. All those pics I posted of our gatherings, the nice lenses on teh table all nic's 1 usually.
ianho : Uncle Ian, nic no have the STF lar... he got the Zeiss 135mm. My first taste of Zeiss poison. The instant I looked through the lens, I know why people rave about Zeiss ady!
Now nic is no longer so active in photography. I saw him selling off his whitey 70-200mm in alphanatics not so long ago.
zstan & 8tvt : The STF is BUILT SPECIFICALLY to get SMOOTH BOKEH! There's no other lens in the world that can render bokeh like the STF. Only drawback is that it's manual focus and the light transmitivity is f4.5
Oh that's sad. He was so gung-ho about photography. he told me he was doing a course n planning to turn pro. Mebe something happened n he had to quit like mebe having to take ove the family biz n no more time for photography perhaps.

no much option.. even selecting 28/30mm and 50mm also pening.. just now walk² asking for 30mm but not avail.. where can get and how much?
What for? I don't play video 1. Only family vids n the NEX-5 does exactly the same 1080i 60fps. N when I want even more bokeh I have the 5D2 with my L lenses shooting at the much loved 1080p 24fps.
What I really wanna see from Sony now is Carl Zeiss or G lens 16mm f1.4 pancake lens. Also a 16-35 f2.8 or 24-70 f2.8 equivalent lenses by Carl Zeiss. I will immediately buy the 16mm f1.4 Carl Zeiss if it appears.
i nearly never use those modes... i'd use a point-n-shoot if i am to use those modes
Eh the built in Sunset mode damn nice. I loved it on my A200 n I love it on my NEX too. I always wished Canon would release a custom Sunset mode I can load into the camera but until now no sunset.
