QUOTE(8tvt @ Jul 11 2010, 11:40 PM) always be confident of yourself and know your gear inside out before accepting a paid job (even unpaid ones need to be extra sure that they have an extra photographer covering other than you).. you do not want to screw up other people's day/event/ceremony and in the end, hand in under/over exposed pics with wrong white balance.. |

sniper, look for mikeshashimi, he's selling off quite a number of filters that would fit your lens

zstan, its called be prepared for shooting the day before you actually shoot. And that includes checking for dust on sensor and lenses. I always do a complete dust/smudge check on all lenses the night before. As for sensor dust, touchwood, i hv not gotten it so far. Its mainly caused by where/when/how you change lenses that causes it, it wont appear out of nowhere. And its crazy to use 'silk'/microfibre cloth to touch the sensor. They carry SO much fine dust, however few there may be.

cassplayer, do NOT touch anything inside there if you are not sure of what you're doing especially if the 'distractions' u see does not affect the output quality. U might jz make it worse. The 'fingerprint' mark u see is normal. Its a fresnal lens, meant to enlarge the image u see from the mirror.

as long its not the sensor, then technically, its alright... unless you're OCD enough to need to nitpick on the tiniest of dust.. use an alcohol based solvent to dip the cotton bud with, so that dust will stick on it and prevent introducing more dust on it (if u use a dry cotton bud)
