Do you think even the friend got a SB900,he manage to produce great shots by mastering the flash in just 1 night?

oh? if D40x, then its much much better, i used it before, and it still got a lot juice packed in, compare to D3k. and we kinda offtopic. let go back

mastering, actually event not hard to cover, even u end up shooting 600 picture, they cant finish looking at all. usually no matter how much i shoot in a wedding, i usually filter down under 300 to give them. else, too much, they see also blur blur (but sometimes will give more if there are a lot good photo)

if its cooperate dinner, try ask for a light budget for a banting/banner, then do a portrait session at the hallway, its very easy simple and good, so u can get portrait for every member of the company (company monthly/yearly magazine uses)

and try shoot as much lanscape orientation compo as much as possible, easier for ppl to use as wallpaper too

zstan : just simple company event, but i dont have full details yet

iamKiet : im not sure what to cover. they havent specify what to do yet. haha i sudah pakai cobra still noob . dunno where bounce, when to direct flash. when to use diffuser

ieR : the i one i attend before i was asked to do the potrait session then print to 4R (they prepared a postcard and put the 4r print into it and give to them), but that was only for 10-15 pair couple. this 100++ i dunno, if just simple shoot of event ok la. if potrait again gila woh also the the last one i have to take whole group pic and under quite good lighting ok la one cobra enuff. if they ask take group pic of 100 ppl how? also iinm the event is outdoor (evening-night) then how??

lwliam: unfortunately he using D40 (not sure d40 or d40x). not his but his sisters iinm . selalu go jalan2 wiv him , he better than me imho belajar alot from him =)

btw how much would u rate to sewa alpha body + cobra/F42 + kitty lens?? kita member kan, kasi pinjam boleh ??

mastering, sorry to ask, what body are u using? can it do good iso1600?

the portrait session is like those 'grammy award' where during their arrival walk in, fast do 1 or 2 shoot so that even before the dinner start, u could have done most people. (for those who left out, who ask them talking there lol) since u have a friend with u, discuss who will do the shooting, and who will usher the people... u dont have to do group of 10 people, usually do a 2-3 and max up to 5 people. u can bring (*shit suddenly mind shutdown forget the spelling) something for them to hold on for the shooting as not everyone know how to post. its important for the usher to know how to break the ice and make them go crazy for candid shoots too!

coorperation event another important parts is surely if there is game session, shoot the progress . try avoiding shooting candid of people eating, very impolite

if shooting group photo of 100 people, try do it before 6pm la... if use flash, with bg black black and high iso, not really nice and 100ppl group photo, u need lotsss of flash @.@

haha i feel scary when ieR mentioned 100ppl need lotszzzz of flash..

mastering, my entire gear is listed on my signature. I hv not have my a100 for ages, even when @ 'scary' mamak also dun have d. And i do not have 'kit lens' anymore.
Anyhow, i do not loan my gears out, not even to my best friend, especially best/close friends. Touch wood if they spoil it, how are u going to chase back the compensation? If total damage different story, what if front element big scratch? Lcd crack? Hot shoe crack? All usable, but hey, u know what i mean.. The niggle in your heart tells you that its not perfect anymore.

ieR : juz a350 so maximum i'll go till ISO 800 only .

thats why i need flash . i prefer low noise, good lighting. most of the time even ISO 800 also not enuff. i dare not go till 1600, sometimes just ask them to stay still and shoot at 1/5s. damn hard. (before i got teh cobra). but still now i need higher ISO, thinking of upgrading

the problem is not only to shoot the potrait session but i have to print also, the last event luckily i bring 2CF card, while shoot another friend of mine swap the CF card to print.... was swapping position to snap pic and printing. luckily not many people in that event. this one i dunno if 2 people take picture is enuff . harap2 this event they ask to cover the important people only

lwliam : thats why , i also scared lending people my precioussSSS. also never lend it to anyone beyond my watch . scary woh if i pinjam then something rosak, last2 i kena jual mine to pay . i try find someother way first, probably ask them stand infront of my car then open lampu high beam . group pic ask them use their car's high beam also

fansoption, yes a850 can fit all your current lenses, output will be in apsc only, no problem..

fansoption : I always find it a challenge to understand what you're trying to ask. If you mean of your lens which can fit a850 , only your SP90 and 50mm can. If other meaning then I dono. XD

You have one FF lens = 75-300mm. All others APS-C lens.

Ooopss! Didn't see your 50mm f1.4 there so that makes it 2 FF lens.

You may need to sell off all your other DT lenses and bodies and get the A850 plus a KM17-35 f2.8-4 plus the 50mm for a start. Or you may consider a 24-105mm as a general walkabout lens.

If you're not in a hurry, maybe can wait for the A7xx and keep all your lenses.
