the sync speed, is when u disable HSS (high speed sync, for flash) if u activated it, u can snyc up to the max shutter(1/4000), provided its direct fill flash when u mount on ur camera. :

the flash is only a 50watt/sec unit, its not a strobe ler... cant compare... lol
the HSS is used because i.u need to control the ambience light using shutter speed ii. fast moving object/subject iii. shooting with another stronger lightsource (that messes up ur EV, eg. SUN) |

QUOTE(albnok @ Jul 15 2010, 12:40 PM) fansoption: You'll appreciate the F58 as a complement to the F42 especially for studio shots - more light means you can use your 75-300mm F4.5-5.6 at F11! overheating at a limited time paid job is dangerous!, that is how i broke my F58 widepanel+battcover door when i was changing the batt(overheated) hastely and trip over the stand @.@ and cost me rm260 for both parts (and save rm150 because i fix it myself T.T) and burned my finger (from the discharge shock, my finger smelled like BBQ, lucky i tahan didnt 'throw' the flash head when got shock, else who knows what might i break next T.T)Your F42 also can go 1/250th of a second - just make sure it's pointing straight so the body will support HSS. It's true what signither said - unless you're shooting wirelessly, or shooting events/paid jobs, you will not need 2 flashes. The paid job thing is for when your flash overheats - you can quickly switch to the other flash! I would bring 1 flash for casual outings. lwliam: Yes I am coming. ieR: Actually HSS would not be good for really fast-moving objects because it flashes multiple times - the way to get a fast, short duration flash is to use it at its lowest power (which is really, lowest duration.) ahahaah the jello effect, i purposely go shoot that pic to learn that effect (with a high speed industrial fan), but very interesting, but the subject has to be real fast @.@ This post has been edited by ieR: Jul 15 2010, 12:55 PM |

zstan: what? u clean the sensor with cloth?
Added on July 20, 2010, 12:50 pm8tvt: i dunno bout iso, but maybe is a little better. but i know what else make the high end model marvelous. eg: better higher sensitive AF module, which is very important for low light shooting, also faster detection incorporate with better high speed Bionz. supposely faster Frame Rate, but A550 came out 1.5 years later with 7fps (not fair) but the high end still have better and faster AF-C 5fps (i think, as i found no comparison of it online). look at the menu u will know, the amount of data tweak-able. micro calibration for each lens! etc etc etc etc. it's like buying a more luxury car with 9 airbag, 18 speaker system, 15 inch LCD, Magic ABS, Magic ASD, Magic TRU, Magic ABC, Magic DEF, which u dont get in low end model. QUOTE(albnok @ Jul 20 2010, 03:08 PM) 8tvt: The further away your subject is, the deeper the DOF. So a F1.4 won't be shallow at long distance. errr arent we talking about the FF? @.@![]() If I remember correctly this was at F1.4 or F2.0, ISO1600, on the A100. ![]() This was probably with the Minolta 70-210mm F4 beercan (I can only tell from the perspective, and that the dancers in the back are nearly the same scale as the dancer in front.) The A390 is the A380 replacement. The A450 is the same series as the A550 just without Quick AF Live View. ieR: The A550 does not have micro calibration for each lens. Or rather, it does not allow you to access or change it in the menu. Gouki: You forgot the A290/A390 with 14 megapixel CCD! *edit: opps i didnt state i was talking about the FF. QUOTE(lwliam @ Jul 22 2010, 12:05 PM) oh? if D40x, then its much much better, i used it before, and it still got a lot juice packed in, compare to D3k. and we kinda offtopic. let go back mastering, actually event not hard to cover, even u end up shooting 600 picture, they cant finish looking at all. usually no matter how much i shoot in a wedding, i usually filter down under 300 to give them. else, too much, they see also blur blur if its cooperate dinner, try ask for a light budget for a banting/banner, then do a portrait session at the hallway, its very easy simple and good, so u can get portrait for every member of the company (company monthly/yearly magazine uses) and try shoot as much lanscape orientation compo as much as possible, easier for ppl to use as wallpaper too |

bysquashy: low stock of 85z in msia? hahaha just 2 cent.
Mikeshashimi: seriously, if u shoot ________________ its a great opportunity and a big deal if someone offer u to shoot. coz if u can do a good job, and those client is ur best marketing tools. they will start telling people who did their photo and recommend them to u (with $$ of coz) IF people comes find u, do not offer free job. always ask for something, even rm50 for tea and petrol/tol money is good. never free, coz they will come back(with friends?) and expect not to pay. |
