server r unified, wut u heard bout region lock is that if u register using NA u cannot use EU to update ur personal info payment etc etc.

new graphic option though wonder how much performance hit if i turn it on........ smile.gif

se must think we all have south korea or japan super high speed internet or something, yet another 3.35 gig update today i didnt even get to finish the last one.......

funny thing is all that was changed is a price of a log......... they must have never think of just update the single file instead of the whole package; ;

Applicants selected as testers will be eligible to participate with
the beginning of the second stage of the Alpha Test.
We hope that you will continue to assist us in improving the game
throughout the entirety of the Alpha and Beta Tests.

* To PlayStation 3 Version Applicants:
This test phase will deal only with the Windows version of the
software.
Details regarding the test schedule for the PlayStation 3 version will
be released by email at a later date. If possible, we still ask and
encourage you to take part in the testing on a Windows PC.


To begin testing, please follow the below steps:

(1)Log in to the FINAL FANTASY XIV Tester Site
Announcements, a play guide, client download, and other important
information related to the testing process will all be posted on the
Tester Site.

(2)Update your user name
User names on the Tester Site are generated randomly. To change your
user name, please navigate to the "Edit Profile" page from the Tester
Site's main menu.

(3)Check the forum
The Tester Site will be home to a forum set up for the exclusive use
of testers.

The forum will primarily be for announcements regarding updated content
and test schedules, but will also be used for posting bug reports and
bulletins, opinions and recommendations concerning test items, and
general tester discussion. For further details on any of these topics,
please navigate to "Forum" > "Play Guide" > "Read Me."

(4)Download the client
The FINAL FANTASY XIV client will be distributed via download. Please
see the "Download" section of the Tester Site for more information.


Reporting Bugs
There is no need for those chosen in this round of tester selection to
submit bug reports. Instead, we ask that you focus your efforts on
providing feedback regarding the game content and balance.

Requests and Precautions
- To allow for optimal improvements to game systems and balance,
testers are asked to actively submit any opinions or feedback they may
have.
- The release of information pertaining to the Alpha Test to sources
other than the Tester Site forum is strictly prohibited. Schedules for
the public release of information will be announced at a later date.
Until then, all information should be treated as confidential.
- Announcements will continually be posted under the "Forum" section of
the Tester Site. Please be sure to check periodically for updates.
- The software used during the Alpha Test is under development, and may
differ significantly from the commercial release.
- Please be aware that there are no plans to transfer Alpha Test
character data to the official release of the game.

it seems a few ppl running the benchmark crashed, but the beta seems fine for them i wouldnt worry too much bout it its based on alpha code.

u should also note ati currently has problems with the game, almost everyone on beta with ati card is hit with the low fps bug.

i think they mention ps3 version runs at half the pc resolution so if u r playing it on a monitor it might not look too sharp, will definitely recommend pc version if ur rig is up for it.

If u scare of SECURE CODE do not get the US version of the game, only US version has secure code implemented, ps3 version will probably lack secure code due to limitation.

SE only add secure code because of new law for online gaming.

simple if u dont have secure code or like malaysia credit card where secure code mostly dont work with final fantasy xi = U CAN'T PLAY ><!!

cpu overclocking dont help much, any quad core will run it fine since it runs up to 4 threads.

im running gtx480 its hot with reference cooler, but since i changed to icy vision it doesnt give me that much of a problem nowdays.
