I buy this processor around 1 week ago. 2nd hand item.

This is the thread that sell the item.

Ok but the problem is, its showing the different core speed. (1.6Ghz) as it supposed to do 2.9ghz normal.

How do i fix this problem?

Im using Gigabyte 945P-S3 (socket 775) motherboard. (I buy them september 2007-but condition still ok)

I went to pc shopkeeper near my place he told me that i can change setting on the motherboard (to get the right amount of Ghz) / for old mobo, or can simply change on the Bios.

I went to BIOS and find the thing to adjust the speed, increase voltage, but nothing change my Core speed.

Any otai want to help me? sad.gif

Really sad just buy new processor but tak boleh pakai

bro dun play2
serious it is faulty? i think because my mobo is too old to sustain the extra Ghz. im using F2 ver BIOS, and be told that F6 ver BIOS do Support Intel E6420 & E6320 CPU.

the info is right here.
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-p...=2324&dl=1#bios

Is it safe to update BIOS to just try to get this fix. But the pc shopkeeper told me ur chance when update bios is 50-50

I knew it has power saving core but i tested by playing 2 hard-graphic games and watching movie simultaneously, and it gave max 1.6 only.
Actually it is barely move from 1.602 to 1.607.

(I play World of Warcraft and Heroes of Newerth )
Im not sure how hard my test was but i think it was hard enough.

Added on July 9, 2010, 2:40 pmOk sorry , where can i find C1E and EIST? Thanks again smile.gif

I have tested using Intel Burn Test, it raise my CPU temp from 41c to 68c but still giving 1.6ghz core. I decide to stop the test before it burn out my CPU.
I think that was stressed enough.
I read Intel Burn Test(IBT) page and it says IBT is more accurate than prime95.

Ok now this is test using Orthos. I do not know how to read from the test, but heres the screenshot.

Sorry i have minimum OC skills here but how can I increase my multiplier? I noticed the multiplier on my CPUz is only x6.0?
It is has nothing to do with my motherboard?

Deep in my heart says that my mobo or bios is faulty, (always autoset minimum) sweat.gif

thats what ive been told at least. 50-50 chances. ill do that once i decide to buy new mobo.

right now my 1.6 speed is doing fine in most pc games. so i guess im sticking with current setup.

i will change my rig end of this year, after getting ps3 slim smile.gif
