Either that, or judge from the histogram. This one the most accurate as it doesn't care if your LCD is calibrated or not. The histogram appears the same all over.

erm, just see it looks dark lor, proper exposure would be something like this:

[attachmentid=1674205]
btw, how to read histogram ah? lol i only know it can't be edged up too high at both ends.

Now i see. thanks guys biggrin.gif

this should be better i guess?

Histogram only serve as a guide, any clipping on either edges means there is lost details due to shadows or highlights. But of course, there is no histogram that will suite all images. It depends on what you want smile.gif.

I usually use highlight preview to see if I've blown any or not.

highlight preview?

QUOTE(SoLiD @ Jul 13 2010, 10:18 PM)
lol

AF-D has no built in AF motor in lens, so unless ur body has a motor you have to manual focus. Older Nikon body and entry level body has no AF motor in their body...so if they use AF-D have to manually twist the focus ring to focus.

AF-G has a built in AF motor, it can AF in all nikon body
some say AF-D is better, some say AF-G is better, afaik i r haz no money so i r buy AF-D
*
thanks for d info.

but since D90 has a built in motor so now a bad idea to get D huh? plus it's a lot cheaper. lol

QUOTE(@dri@n7386 @ Jul 14 2010, 12:15 AM)
hi guys, what lens is the most suitable for newbies in d90?macro shot, landscape?

planning to get a new d90 for myself...
*
Just use your kit lens for start. It should do good. And get a flashgun.

On another note, how much does a lenspen cost? feel like getting one

85mm f/1.4D listed as RM3950 in Shashinki.com, I think the new AF-S with VR is going hurt the wallet. (a lot!)
Check this guy's work out. http://www.flickr.com/photos/zeckson/

I personally like his style and light control. If you're planning to do model shooting, you better produce something like this. Else I think you probably won't be able to impress your lecturer.

damn awesome weh his pics @_@

At the beach I would stick to a wide lens for travel that is tongue.gif. I'll avoid 18-200 at all cost haha!
*
yup. wide angle will be perfect for beach shots

I'm still confused. By reading the model name of the Nikkor lens, how do we tell if it's intended for FX, or DX, or both? or we have to check it specs in order to find out?

I see. FX lenses suitable to be used on DX bodies like D90? Got disadvantages?

Thanks for the heads up! the picture is now clearer tongue.gif

oh another one, where to find freeware that makes NEF thumbnails appear in Windows Explorer? I tried googling but couldn't find a free one though. The one on M'soft website needs to validate Windows authenticity, which.... rolleyes.gif
