QUOTE(ProdigyZz @ Nov 13 2016, 06:54 PM) Hi guys, I am planning to buy this Ikea ceiling spotlight. Just want to ask if i put 2 of this at my living room will the lighting be sufficient? http://www.ikea.com/my/en/catalog/products/40262622/[attachmentid=8019456] Hard to tell. That is just light fixture, not including bulb of your choice. But in living room you need round 300 lux. 400 lux if you read and write without assist of lamp.

QUOTE(billyboy @ Dec 21 2016, 11:50 AM) [size=7] [b] So, to summarize, the main problem with LEDs is the fact that they emit primarily blue wavelengths and lack the counterbalancing healing and regenerative near-infrared frequencies. They have very little red in them, and no infrared, which is the wavelength required for repair and regeneration.
Completely bullshit. Even the day in day out tubes are around CRI 85 max and all of them are of 6500K colour temp. If you concern so much, better have your dinner before 6 and head to bed after 8.

in the old days, recess light is just a recess housing for bulbs
but nowadays hard to find good quality housing as all OEM has moved on to built in downlight

QUOTE(dude06 @ Apr 17 2017, 01:02 PM) Hi Sifus, Anyone know where can I make a box to recess the thin LED downlight? Not planning to put plaster ceiling and wanted to use downlight. The only choices around is to make a thin layer of long boxes..maybe 2 to 2.5 inches thick to put downlights. Thank you in advance for comment . What you need is called ceiling mount downlight.

actually if you route it tidily, exposed wire still looks nice.
