found some interesting surface mounted "downlights" with remote, color temperature and dimming capability
You buy individual units then add as many as you like to make whatever pattern

how many watt do I need to buy for surface light for my living room/dining?. Planning to get those square or round (milo tin shape) and changeable bulb.

It's depend on many factors to determine the numbers of down lights you need like the ceiling height, the overall interior wall surface color, light bulb wattage and the lighting ambiance you prefer.....

If you just plan to switch on your dining lighting occasionally and prefer a brighter ambiance, you might need 8 nos of down lights.

If prefer hotel style ambience, 6 nos down lights with the 2 dining lightings might enough....

Just a suggestion

Can the sifus here comment on the proposed lighting based on the drawings above?
Blue is downlight (7wt)
pink is eyeball (7w)
Red is pendant light (above bar counter) and chandelier (above dining table)
Black is tracklight
Green is fan
Yellow is light through

Will my house light up like firecracker or is it under-lighted?

is your plaster recess ceiling trough have conceal light source? if not better put some on the middle of recess ceiling as area
below the recess ceiling will not be appear in dark zone

do made sure you able to position the ceiling fan as shown on your sketch.

it looks too close to nearby pendant light and recess ceiling

Alternatively, just loop the lights that u want with a photo cell. Good for outdoor lights. Auto turn on when it gets dark. With normal switch u can turn off the lights at night when u don’t need it.

Ya, my house is using this.

Old tech but cheap and durable auto switch for car parkb lighting

Already using it for 9 years without any maintenance needed, install and forget thingy

Hello guys,

Need your advise here.

My contractor plan to install 18w LED downlight to all area.

1. Is the downlight placement okay?

2. What is suitable watt for toilet? I prefer to have hotel feel. Not too dim and bright.

Bedroom 1 needed another 2 nos 6 inch downlights

If you want hotel feel make sure the light bulb color temperature is 4000k or 3000k, the lower the warmer color

Oh... How about watt? Is 18w/bulb suitable for 32.2sqm(living & dining area). OR should i go lower watt? I want jimat elektrik too.

Actually your living area need six downlights, 18w should be OK yet it depends on your ceiling height.

If you really want to make sure the brightness can ask if your contractor for lux meter to measure them on site for you.

He said, 4 downlight enough. If put 6 downlights will be very bright. I also don't know.

What do you think? (attached).

All areas will use 6" downlight(18w).

I just realize there are yellow colour rectangular on the living area, is that a ceiling light trough?

if yes the 4 downlight lights at living should be ok when you open both of the lights at the same time.
