well if you use the d/light n using the light save bulb ..then u cannot use the dimmer...

if you use the with glass for th d/light so you need to be rajin lor as in 3 months time kena open up n clean the dead insect..

spiral is better light than 3 or 4 'U' bulb type...

plus the color of the light - Warm / Cool Daylight / Daylight makes the difference of the area..if not percaya then try all these type color...your wall color will look so different due to the it...

anyway..all back to personal opinion...cheers..

yup for your downlight maybe you also can link it using the 'IC' box..e.g using the same 1 switch..on 1st..light A on..then again using the same switch other light on or both row on...walaaaaa...

chk the detail on the bulb itself..ado china mali lor..

also what theme u want it to b...cozy or bright....some color bulb makes your wall color dull... blush.gif

plus chk the type of the bulb...screw or plc....spiral or u type....

chk wther your DB board can cope with amount of the lights if all on...takut trip or fire hazard..

chk the wiring also using the 2.0mm ?...takut they curi curi using the thin 1... yawn.gif

you can have the dimmer energy saving but all comes to the budget lor... cry.gif

or you can also option using the remote light control...e.g 'TOMATO' remote control...so wisely plan your wiring...like most lighting shop do..but makes you a 'Potato Coach'..hehehe...

Added on July 12, 2010, 1:25 pmso 1stly..you ned to determine the theme or purpose of your lighting..

then total lights needed or 'LUMEN'..then size or type

Can it be done ..Your DB can carry or not..better print picture and plot the size or the area..

your front 2 d/light near tv - as 1 switch...then above sofa 1 switch..projector light - 1 switch...your L box - 1 switch...fan 1 switch..plus if u add the remote..hehehe...nice lor...you can make it cozy mozy...haiya..bestnyaaaa...just my personal opinion...peace to all...

for the color bulb its depend on personel like...test 1st warm type.. ..then warm white...as light color does have effect on the wall color that either bring out the color of it...

wow sensa 5..KDK....RM580/pc...A/con - take Daikin - can use the normal piping even inverter type..cheaper cost...

well....check this out

Size your room correctly! A quick way to calculate aircond cooling capacity for your room is:

i. find volume of room in cubic feet - length x width x height and multiply by 6.
ii. add 500btu per person in the room to this figure.
example. 12' x 15' x 8' = 1440 cubic ft. multiply by 6 = 8640. add 500 for one person = 9140. This means the room needs an AC unit of about 9000btu/h to cool it properly.

This is very important as a unit with cooling capacity too high for your room will turn on and off frequently (when the compressor turns on, it draws A LOT OF power compared to when it is running normally, just like turning our PCs on and off frequently, you wouldn't do that right?) and unable to remove moisture from your room efficiently. A unit too low will take a long time and consume a lot of power to cool your room. So size and match your room to aircond capacity properly!

2. pay attention to the (energy efficiency rating) EER number on the unit's specification sheet. Avoid brands that do not furnish this number either on their website or product brochures. The higher the EER the more efficient it is (uses less power to do the same job as lower rated ones). To calculate EER, take the btu and divide by the unit's power input in watts. example, 9000btu/900watts = 10 EER. In general, buy units with 10 and above EER.

3. Be careful with btu/h numbers, some companies round this number up. Pay attention to the cooling capacity in kilowatts. 1 kW = 3.412 btu/h. My new SHARP is listed as 9000btu/h but on the compressor, it is listed as only 2.5kW meaning it really is only 8530btu/h with an EER of only 9.22. Bummer!

4. Inverter units are not worth the extra cost in purchase price, installation and maintenance. They will only save $$ if run continuously at temperatures around 26C or 27C and if the room is very well insulated. So if you run your aircond infrequently (only on hot days) and at 24C, it's best to just buy a normal non-inverter unit.

5. Even though units with high EER may use less power (such as the 5 star energy star panasonic models), they cost a bomb and it will take several years for you to recover the difference in cost in terms of savings unless you run it everyday for 10 or more hours per day (such as office environment). For example, even though my Sharp has a lower EER rating it is cheaper than a similar Sharp unit with high EER but costs about 300-400 more. Using a convenient excel calculator, I can save about RM50 per year based on normal usage which, in theory, means it will take 6-8 years to recover the initial cost. This does not take into account servicing costs. So decide what suits you.

anyway...it would be like in a hotel/resort feel..nice...try to have remote in also...remote i think can get for less than RM40..

yup should be enough ...your kitchen cabinate have light under it?...max 6...but u can still format it lights on in pairs...or in 3's..or 4's then 2's..on together...that will save your energy as some times u don't need to on all at once..plus then use the 21 watt bulb lor...

mine dry - 8 X 19 using only 4pc (6" - 18watt)...on squence 1 n 3..or all on using the 'IC' box..

the L box - have any T5 lights in it?...warm light should be ok...if u intend to install the d/light w glass then be 'RAJIN' lor to clean every 2 months once...plus easy to blow due to heat contain in it...plus less bright due to glass frosted..so higher watt need have..right?..but less glare..but if you use the warm white then won't be glare..no glass cheaper d/light...more bright..less power use..save RM$$$$$...

my living hall - L box with warm light in it...bright enough..so when on no need to have the all the d/light ( 1 pc/dwnlight - 18 watt - spiral) on...just like hotel ambience feel...thats why u need to plan which light on n off...so in long run save $$...feel hotel ambience..the L box also you can have it 2 color in it..hehehe...tadaaaaaa....using the 'IC' box( warm and blue color).

if wanna bright..install 21watt spiral..for info deco light usually using the warm light..more deco feel...

Anyway...my advice to u ...b4 u buy d/light..test 1st..the brightness of it...with or w/out glass...color bulb in it...all advice is up to u to follow..plus your pocket also...n 'RAJIN' to clean..

me no expert..just a guy who house alrdy 3 months delay..perhhh..so house in final stage fitting..trial n error..myb will post my living with light on for yr comment ...
