guys, how do I install track light if the lighting point is in the middle instead of at the end? Is there any accessories to accommodate this situation?
if you don't have plaster ceiling only way is use exposed conduit. there are some stylish conduits but cost alot more. if you don't mind the industrial look normal PVC or metal conduit works too.since you are using track lights, the tracks already have the industrial look (a.k.a non-aesthetic look), so using a conduit to cover the wires aren't so bad. you just need to get some wires to extend the wires from original point to the near the end.
there is another way but it may or may not work, is get an electrician to try to trace the existing conduit to see if it leads to any round box near the end area that way you can (if the conduit still has space) route the extended wires via that conduit to nearer to the end. this method requires the "whack a mole" approach where they use hammer to knock out the plaster where the existing wire is to expose the round box, use fish net to trace the wire to see if there's any round box near the end, then use hammer to hit the ceiling to expose the box then use the fish wire to pull the extension wires there. how close it can be depends on the original layout.
if you live in condo, i don't think hacking the ceiling to conceal the wires is a good idea, nor is it legal. but a member here did it. floor is load bearing, i don't think you can hack them. may also cause problem to the unit above if it's toilet or bathroom, waterproof layer may crack due to vibration.
then once done you have to patch back the holes using cement & plaster then repaint the ceiling.
so easiest approach would be use exposed conduit. something like coffee shops and restaurants.
