May I know the pros & cons of LED and CFL, as far as downlight is concerned?

I was told that LED downlight, when burnt, need to replace the whole unit. Whereas CFL downlight, we can just replace the bulb? Is that right? (Of course LED lasts longer than CFL.)

It varies, on some LED downlights, you could just replace the LED strips and reuse the casing and driver...

My LED down light keep flickering when turn on. Just like starter problem, of coz LED no starter. ANy problem with it? Driver issue or wiring issue?
Bought at House of Lighting, do we need to bring the receipt and box? or just receipt will do.

Likely driver.... switch to another to test?....

Hi all,

does anyone has experience with normal T5 vs LED T5 ? Does LED T5 also generate as much heat as normal T5? Currently using normal T5 at L Box and feeling warm seating below the L Box.
Any comment?
*
Normal Fluorescent T5 of course generate more heat... the light it produces ranges from infra-red (heat) to UV... LED generates a much narrower wave-length within the visible light spectrum.

According to this comparison CFL generates 8.8x more heat than a LED:

What is the distance between your L box and you? I have around 12 units of T5 in one L box rectangle area, I don't feel the heat when switch on for long hours.

I suppose there's a factor of how efficient is the cooling in your room... too

im thinking to put eyeball led living, dining and kitchen.

living : cool white
dining : cool white
kitchen : warm white
masterroom : warm white

**warm white will be too dark or not for kitchen and masterroom?
*
Personal opinion: If you're handling knives in the kitchen &/or cooking (from scratch).... you need bright lights...Full spectrum
