Well... this is not the first for book/movie adaptation
if you watch anime, Full Metal Alchemist is a good example, both comic & series going different direction halfway albeit starting on the same grid.

Ep9, it's nice they dedicated the whole episode to the fighting at the wall alone
love:
- the archer leaning over the wall for the kill
- drop the scythe!!! (this is the most awesome moment in the whole episode)
- gritty battle at the castle gate
- Ygritte died in Jon's arm

hate:
- only 2 freakin' giants??
- shoddy CGI
- Jon/Sam conversation of 'how is it like f***ing Ygritte?'
- They killed Pyp and Grenn
- not so epic battle at the wall

ep10, season finale is a mixed bag
love:
- very original plot of the hound vs Brienne, and the epic fight of "I'm no Ser" fighters
- Brienne found Arya
- Cercei's revelation of the incest to her father, and the look on Tyrion's face
- the skeletons
- Stannis's cavalry sweeping thru wildling's camp
- killing of Shae and Tywin
- Arya on her way to Braavos and the ending children's choir singing the theme of GOT
Hate:
- they killed Jojen
- children of the forest and her fireball??
- No LSH yet
- No "he doesn't shit gold, after all" from Tyrion


And Now His Watch is Ended...
