guys and girls,

there's a fine line between being concerned & busybody. if you know what i mean.

example:

i asked a same question to my friend, some will say at the end of the conversation : thanks for ur concern.

some will just cut u short and say, y u so 8(busybody) for what?

applies to close friends n not so close friends too.



so how do you guys rate what is busy body/concerned?

rule of the thumb in life. mind your own business and ignore drama in life, you live longer.

elehhhhhh..dun tell me u guys din concern about pretty girls before..

some peoples just don't know how to appreciate their frens' concerns .
so they will think their frens are busybody ...

err...havent met any one pretty before...
if for friends...his personal matter i dont really want to know (because that is called "8")
if his/her matters is related to me (IE: if we r both studying, so it is related to study matters) yes, i will 8/concern about his/her situation

Some people just showing fake concern, they just want to know more about what happen and then spread the news. In the end it still means busybody. Kepo.

well depends on which person. those who really drama and love to have dramatic self inflicted emo, i'd better not show that much concern, LOL! there's a possibility when u concern, then the other person will think u have bad intentions ,etc.

being concerned and being a busybody depends on the content discussed and the closeness of the friendship/relationship

I can define it a bit better for you

busybody = active
concerned = passive

A busybody is someone who wants to know, even if the person doesn't really want to tell, so they try to force the issue out, its really selfish. A concerned party will show their concern and provide support, but will not force the issue if you're not comfortable with it.

That's a simple explanation anyway, sometimes you need to intervene when your friends are in trouble otherwise they spiral to self destruction.

Besides, TS question is so very vague. No proper example or scenario to give an opinion. Most of the time, you should be concerned on the background. If they see you are concerned, they will approach you when they are ready. But they will push you away the moment you become pushy and busy body.

At the end of the day, it is your method of approach that will lead that person to believe you are actually concerned or just plain busy body. And pretty or not pretty girls should not make a difference at all if you are a true friend.

I can tell from your line of questioning, you are only concerned/busy body because she's pretty. No sincerity.

ermm..my question applies to guy and girl friends.

both are same. if you're concern about things that doesnt concern u, you're automatically a busybody.
