Ever since the final 3GS promotion, Digi figure that most people would be more interested to pay one big chunk in one go to get the phone and then pay a lower monthly rate.

Whichever way it works, Digi only best Maxis offer by RM50~100 depending on whether you are using auto debit or not.

Maxis will beat Digi on 3G coverage but Digi will be better as you do not need to worry about exceeding the quota.

Nah, I think if you took Maxis route, it will be just slightly expensive by RM100 but no need stucked for 2 years. Next year you will be free to upgrade to the new Iphone. Who knows if they improves again on the calls and quota, right?

Thats why you need to test their network first before taking the plunge. I personally have no problem with their speed in Kepong but if I were on the move to Rawang and more rural area, nothing really works.

You get the benefits on paying a lower fees than Maxis for the rest of the contract.

Its not too bad. If you were a IDigi subscriber still stucked to your plan, Digi allows you to buy the phone for RM300 off without needing to extend the contract (issit only limited to today?). You gets Rm600 off with Maxis but end up stucked with another 12months which makes you fork out another RM600 after you deduct the rebate.. I think Digi's offer is better for existing user.

Advance payment is the monthly fees that you will pay for the next 24 months...
Digi style is bill you in one go and do an EPP, you will be bound to the contract via your credit card company and not them.

I would vote for Maxis this time around... gives you the flexibility to upgrade in 1year (when newer iphone comes out) + better 3G coverage for just RM100 more.

Its just a way for Digi to make up for those 3GS user that signed up with them this year. You wont get IDigi plan without buying a 3GS.

I believe its RM1890, 1690 for phone + 200 advance... I heard they are charging RM25 for micro sim... but cant really confirm on that.

Maxis has a wider coverage for 3G... the quality though is very dependent on the area.

I find that Digi coverage in Jinjang, Kepong, Sg Buloh, and Shah Alam are pretty up to speed.

How did you come up with this pricing?

Digi is selling them for RM2090 (16GB) and RM2490 (32GB) regardless of which plan you plan to sign up with. The contract is for 2 years.

Then just pay accordingly to the plan... there is no advance payment if you dont use EPP.

This is the total monthly fees for 2 years. And Digi is going to charge it all together with the phone price if you use EPP. Thats mean you are bounded to the contract with your card provider instead of Digi.

Iphone is a premium product that comes with hefty price. Instead of subsidizing the handset price too much, Digi gives a small discount on the phone RRP and attract you via a much lower monthly fees with the same minutes, free calls/sms/mms and internet quota. Overall, its cheaper than the previous 3GS plan.

I just went back from Selayang Digi Authorised Service Center and they do indeed have Iphone 4. But they do not have one for you to try it out.

Almost sign but was rejected because it was hella annoying to port my supp line out and in again because lastime ported over from Maxis. Sigh...

Edit: You want to buy it and not sign contract? I believe its impossible at this very moment. I asked and there was no such option currently.

You cant do it now... you can only buy it outright if you are a existing IDigi subscriber on and after 1st Nov.

If the principal line subscribe to IDigi plan, only the principle line can enjoy the internet. Free calls between your principal line (now IDigi) and supp line remains like it was before. If you use your phone with your supp line which dont have any internet package, you will be charged at 1cent/kB.

I think its because everyone is waiting for Digi event tomorrow where you will get RM100 off the phone ontop of the RM200 initially given.

It was hell for me... apparently, switching from supp line is easy if your number belongs to Digi in the first place. For me who did the MNP way back few months ago, I was told I had to port out of Digi, back to Maxis prepaid, then back to Digi principal line again. Im still considering...
