patriot could be on d9 sis... when u need > 1.7v for a 1600 @ cas7, most prolly d sticks are on d9. as for gskill, it would be a steal if they use psc on mid-low end which can be found on higher end. could be bbse/bdbg too... binned @ 1333 oso called xmp... ' lol'ed hard... laugh.gif

QUOTE(antonio @ Sep 9 2010, 03:52 AM)
sir, aren't those sticks in d review rated at 1600 @ 6-7-6 while d one on sale are 6-6-6 all d way? In d hwcanucks review, those sticks cant even do 6-6-6 on intel platform which we all knew is more forgivin on ram oc, so i think most likely they are just on bbse. hmm.gif

D problem w psc is they dont like tight trcd @ high freq. Bbse (team dark lv 1600) managed to do 1700 @ 7-7-7, i've tried d same setting on flare n eco but to no avail, heck, even d xtreem 2k (bbse as well from what i heard) can't do that. But psc shines (even not by miles) in higher freq, some more they dislike volt (vdimm) which make them fun to tweak, provide ya chip comes w a gud imc ofcoz. nod.gif

From what i read, ram oc on intel platform (particularly i5 & i7) oso imc bound. If d imc is weak, there's nothing much can be done even one have great sticks. Correct me if i'm wrong, intel super noob i am. tongue.gif

very sweet clock there bro. but it can be better if u can crank up d nb & ram freq to certain extent instead of current settin. at ~4.0GH cpu clock, u definitely needs higher freq on ram & imc. nonetheless, great clock u have on b55... thumbup.gif

@ah_khoo

currently i've up the ram freq with ratio of 1:3, still priming now, from where i can crank up the nb as ur advice? is it from the bios? beside, wat is the imc tat u mention and are u meaning tat i shud get a pair of higher freq ram?

thx
*
at that kinda cpu clock, i'd have 1600 @ 7-7-7 at least (tighter d better ofcoz but that means more $$$) & nb freq @ 2600 atleast. u can increase nb freq @ bios by selectin high cpu-nb multi. imc = cpu-nb. wink.gif

not necessary to get a pair of ram rated @ higher freq as amd still prefer tight timin (which something hard to achieve @ high freq unless ya ram are powered by hyper chips). smile.gif

*
haven't try but after a quick google session it seems these sticks are on bbse as well. from what i've tried, bbse (geil ultra 2133/team xtreem 2k) can do:

1. 1440 @ 6-6-6 w/ 1.66v Geil Ultra 2133
2. 1700 @ 7-7-7 w/ 1.6v Geil Ultra 2133
3. 1824 @ 7-8-7 w/ 1.725 Team Xtreem 2K
4. 1840 @ 7-8-7 w/ 1.68 Geil Ultra 2133

while PSC can do

1. 1333 @ 6-6-6 w/ ~1.35v (Gskill ECO 1333, memtest only, no ss)
2. 1600 @ 6-7-6 w/ 1.5v Gskill Flare 2K
3. 1840 @ 7-8-7 w/ 1.53v Gskill Flare 2K

depends, got 2 batch of dom gt 2k cas 8. ealier batch is CMG4GX3M2A2000C8, runnin on hyper which already EOL, newer batch is CMT4GX3M2A2000C8, Rev 7.1 (d only one rev i know so far) is believed to be runnin on PSC. from what i know, only hyper are able to do 6-6-6 all d way up to 18xx, for same freq, bbse & psc need to be loosen to 7-8-7 or even 7-9-7 w/ d latter requires less volt. i mite be wrong thou... smile.gif

not so sure bout hypers, but d9gtr only found on 1gb sticks iirc, so d comparison is not valid.imo d smaller d size, d easier to hit higher clock. i'd take d former if i were u, 4g runnin 18xx @ cas6 is pure orgasm... tongue.gif

some more, micron are known to love volts, while elpida chippies are more environmental friendly, most top up @ 1.7xv, any higher wont really help. ofcoz this is based on what i've tried lah... biggrin.gif

was just bein lucky this time sis, but no luck on tight timin... sad.gif

i think only pi, flare & other mid~high end series are capable of doin cas 6 on amd platform. u need decent PSC chippies to do 1600 @ 6-7-6. this cheapo eco could be on low quality psc/bbse (doubt so since bbse requires higher volt). hmm.gif

yeah, amd seems to be able to handle hyper sticks well, so far i have yet to hear any amd users in xs complainin their sticks bein killed. but to be fair, amd can't push hyper as far as intel, so this mite be d reason. thumbup.gif

Bro Ah Khoo, It's Gskill Flare CL9 that I PM'ed you earlier. I placed order wrongly on a CL9. Supposed order should have been placed on a CL7.
Later when I have the time I try 8-9-8 first. The one that I got was only 9-9-9 @ 1Ghz. I ll try later. Thanks.
*
try these:

6-6-6 @ 1333, 1.35~1.4v
6-7-6 @ 1600, 1.5xv
7-8-7 @ 1900~1940, 1.5xv

if u can do all listed above i'm pretty sure u can hit 7-9-7 @ 1k or somewhere near there. smile.gif

bro, d cheapo eco 1333 can't do tight timing @ 1600 ish, i made a wrong statement b4, 1600 @ 7-7-7 is not prime stable iirc. 1333 @ 6-6-6 is really nothing... iirc 1600 @ 6-7-6 gives d best bandwidth in memtest... sad.gif

they shine @ 1800, any higher need tonnes of tweak (volt). was dead happy 1900 was doable but it was pure luck only. tried to do 967 * 2 but no go. let's see whether it can be done after a day of memtest @ 1900. that's how i spent d cuti during hari raya. lifeless isn't it??? sweat.gif
