Follow this type

sudo -s

mkdir -p /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/

touch /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat

service network-manager restart

You need to get the files though , I am not sure if RT2860STA comes out of the box or not

^ That's why I say for the sound card you need to review the previous pages. I had provided a link, follow everything in that link even though it looks like a lot but its all essential. Follow the steps in the link.

hi everyone, i just got my hp mini 110-3004tu.

i got 1 question - is there a num lock key in this netbook? i cant seem to find it.. how to use the f1-f12 key without always needing to press the fn key? sorry for noob question. thanks~

These 3 lines work for me. Just add in sudo in front of these lines will do.

Now I am concentrating on how to get ALSA to work. Already reinstalled Ubuntu 3 times rofl.

copy paste those line, in Terminal enter sudo then shift + insert to paste the command in.

First is

sudo mkdir -p /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/

Next

sudo touch /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat

lastly

sudo service network-manager restart

Just type/copy-paste those in

i about to install too but when i try it(install on usb pendrive) and i found out the wifi not work,
do u know how to slove it? can help, cos i heard it need to slove through terminal and i not really confident with terminal

I didn't backup, and had a fresh copy of Ubuntu in my netbook again...

if you actually follow the step from the top to end it should work perfectly and yes, I remember one file being taking the whole night to download.

Now I need to solve my problem, I think this is my 10th time reinstalling ubuntu after numerous failed attempts and crashed my Ubuntu.

Lesson of the day: Back up your root.disk

Got my HP Mini 110 from Unipack today.
Opened & used HP's customized Windows 7 starter edition for 30 minutes.
Got fed up with all the stinking bloatware so I decided to format the entire hard disk(yes,including the recovery partition)
Before I format the hard disk I extracted all the drivers so in case I have drivers problem I can restore the default drivers.
So I formatted with my heavily modified Windows 7 Home Premium & everything working fine now.Performance much better than what I expected from Atom based netbook.

played the plants vs zombie game.. really nice!! but relly eats battery.. played around 1h30min and 44% batt left

how to increase the battery performance? i think this crappy win7 like keep reading the hdd one..

Oh no I am not talking about crysis2 obviously.

Even facebook games hanged on it orz 

Some mention gunbound is able to play.

If gunbound able to play, MapleStory too! Unfortunately, now I am only playing facebook game, Online game sap my sentry away.
