No
the guy who wanna get wifi working,

Follow this type

sudo -s

mkdir -p /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/

touch /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat

service network-manager restart

You need to get the files though , I am not sure if RT2860STA comes out of the box or not

^

mkdir -p /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/
touch /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat
service network-manager restart

These 3 lines work for me. Just add in sudo in front of these lines will do.

Now I am concentrating on how to get ALSA to work. Already reinstalled Ubuntu 3 times rofl.

Added on July 27, 2010, 11:15 pmPeople said updating ALSA will do. Trying to update now. Will inform if it works

Added on July 27, 2010, 11:16 pm@fcuk90

copy paste those line, in Terminal enter sudo then shift + insert to paste the command in.

First is

sudo mkdir -p /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/

Next

sudo touch /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat

lastly

sudo service network-manager restart

Just type/copy-paste those in

^ No larr, credit to the person who submit these commands.

Anyway, the next step for you is to solve the sound problem.

I posted a link on updating ALSA, which is http://monespaceperso.org/blog-en/2010/05/...cid-lynx-10-04/

Do note that before you do stuff like updating kernel, try to backup ._.

I didn't backup, and had a fresh copy of Ubuntu in my netbook again...

orz my settings.
*
im doing that now .download the file took a long period .

still in second step .

just paste in all the command slowly ?

Got my HP Mini 110 from Unipack today.
Opened & used HP's customized Windows 7 starter edition for 30 minutes.
Got fed up with all the stinking bloatware so I decided to format the entire hard disk(yes, including the recovery partition)
Before I format the hard disk I extracted all the drivers so in case I have drivers problem I can restore the default drivers.
So I formatted with my heavily modified Windows 7 Home Premium & everything working fine now.Performance much better than what I expected from Atom based netbook.
*
at last you got yours .
biggrin.gif

after 3 hour usage with wifi + song + surf web , lowest brightness .
i still left 30% battery .
