QUOTE(Vampyr3 @ Jul 7 2010, 04:40 PM) Read a nifty trick somewhere in a magazine before that after u set to +-2EV bracketing, set teh exposure value to +-1 also.....and u'll get +-3EV at both ends......so it's total range of +-3EV and u get 5 shots, 1 extra on each end of the exposure No wide angle then need to shoot panorama style and cimbine it together using software liao....the poor man's wide angle, haha Waa.... good extras for us if the magazine info really works, have u tried it? lol.... Combine panorama shots ma fan lor.... need to use tripod to do that rite... din read any info on this kind of software oso This post has been edited by Kent3888: Jul 7 2010, 04:47 PM

QUOTE(Vampyr3 @ Jul 7 2010, 04:57 PM) Lol, i haven't tried yet but theoretically it really does work......u'd have 2 sets of bracketed photos using the method. 1 set -3ev until +2ev and another set -2EV until +3EV so end to end it's -3EV to +3ev. Those duplicates in the middle ones, just pick either one lah A fren of mine is using PTGui to combine the panorama and he's using handheld....looks good! Ohhh... I tot after setting -2EV den automatically enable 5 shots, lol.... so it's kinda manual creating 5 shots thx for the info, will try them out

QUOTE(Vampyr3 @ Jul 8 2010, 02:00 PM) Heya, quick question.....what do you guys normally check for when getting a used lens? I'll probably be getting one real soon and am trying not to get conned...haha So any tips and pointers? I only know i need to check the lens glass for scratches/fungus, motor/focusing sounds and picture quality when shooting a pic......any other things need to check? Thanks a bunch! Bring a LED torchlight, open both the cap, slide open the aperture blade using ur finger n shine the torch through the front see whether any fungus growth or not. Check to receipt for the stated lens age if u scared get conned for more expensive price. But as long as the lens no fungus and no focusing problem, then it wont b a problem la.....

QUOTE(Vampyr3 @ Jul 9 2010, 10:20 AM) Got a used one from one of the forummers here.....nice guy....haven't had the chance to try it out properly yet, just took some test shots but not bad......minimal focal distance is a pain in the arse though, 1m!!.....haha My solution to that 1m is get a +1 or +2 close up filter, lol.... perhaps u can go try out one day

I got mine 3 month old 680 wit everything like new... lol
I tried +10, quite hard to catch focus, suitable for macro, like if u wanna take a ur food while sitting down facing it, I think +2 is good enuf.... juz my 2cents, I'm using +4 anyway

QUOTE(kenji_britney @ Jul 14 2010, 01:01 PM) tammy 17-50 only lol. i think better to take tammy gua, cause you got flexibility to zoom in and out. But how's the bokeh of Tammy compared to the 35mm? loose alot kah? Any sample of the Tammy's 2.8?

QUOTE(noobie1 @ Jul 14 2010, 03:45 PM) hmm...heard tammy got lot of problem..and since u are using D5k,the tammy with motor they complaint the focus speed are slow... my advise, since u only say that two lens, then i will suggest 35mm... Ouuchh.... complaints s summore >.<, I just wanted a good bokeh lens, I either straight geh a 35mm or get the tammy with zooming advantage, but need to sell kitlens la, coz tammy definitely better den kit lens rite? I assume

QUOTE(kenji_britney @ Jul 14 2010, 03:58 PM) if you get the 35mm straight then you're keeping your kit lens? if yes then i think better for 35mm. you wouldn't wanna sell off your kit lens then you won't have any zoom range from 18-55 d lol. Ya, if get 35mm den no nit sell kit lens, 1st is lower budget n 2nd is 35mm still need kit lens to cover zoom range, If get 17-55 higher budget n covers kit lens range ma, so can sell 18-55 off..... so really wondering, to go which road... Previously chosen 55-200 from 35mm, n never regret, now thinking the practicality of 35mm vs 17-55mm

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Jul 14 2010, 04:55 PM) dun forget yea f/1.8 and f/2.8 . difference is much i guess. if you can live with the prime . 35mm is a wise choice imo . the f/1.4g would be better. haha I didn't put the 50mm in consideration is coz the distance is too close for me, need to move quite far to take full body shot! It's hard to take group photos too in congested places, >.<.... Unless I'm using FF la.
