Look at this way,if it would be less painful to buy the game, you are not getting a typical RTS with a SP and MP component. With SC2, you are getting a RTS with a MP that is well balanced and powered by a good matchmaking system, a extremely versatile editor that will give you hours and hours of fun, a good story SP with lots of CGI scenes, a challenge mode to train you for MP, and also a closer to home server. Basically, a complete package than some of the half baked RTS out there. If you dont mind IAH managing the servers.
Im not a fan of what Kotick have done, like increasing the price of PC games, but i think, with SC2, the price is worth paying for.
Unlike MW2 where you get a short SP, a few spec ops missions and a broken, imba MP, with no way to add contents to the game by users, other than getting those overpriced map packs.
