QUOTE(SyokVPN @ Jul 7 2010, 04:35 AM) When we were having nightmare, IAHGames wasn't in-chrage for the SEA Hellgate: London server (Flagship technical team did) as well... Thats why when i saw IAH Games, again, i was like: I don't want to walk into another nightmare again. US, KR, TW servers all have their own beta.... what do we have? IAHGames cant even make a proper announcement about the game yet.. the game will be launch in 20days. SEA don't even have a proper web site. IAHGames is famous for their beta quality services. Not to mention, they stayed silent for months when customers faced problems with their game. These idiots can never manage something well. Probably end up changing to to US edition in the end. |

![]() Nice logic, Blizzard. Knowing other people's real name does not mean that you'll build better gaming community or stop trolls. Gawd knows what crack has Blizzard been smoking recently. |

QUOTE(fujkenasai @ Jul 7 2010, 03:55 PM) ROLF good comic, I wonder whats happening to blizz management they seem to be more and more retarded. I wonder if the people from Ebli Aliance have conqueored blizz vision. If you say Blizzard is still the same as before, i'll LOL. Activision definitely have an influence on Blizzard. Blizzard is definitely not as good as before. Thanks to ASSivision. People use nicknames for a reason, to hide your real name from the strangers/stalkers on the internet. I pity those female gamers. They will get harassed even more. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: Jul 7 2010, 04:10 PM |

Due to Blizzard's rather controversial Real ID crap, angry fans have been digging up Blizzard employee's facebook. Not gonna post them here but full of lol.
Didnt know Dustin Browder likes TF2 and The Dark Knight too. |

You got it all wrong, now, Blizzard gonna reveal your real name on their forums, as a "solution" to all the trolling and flaming. There is no way to hide your real name on their forum, unless you dont post there.
Stop sucking up with all the shit that Blizzard is putting. |

The problem with this real name implementation is, even with just your full name, people can easily find out other private information that is not suppose to be seen. Just imagine that person who is looking at it is your future employee that doesnt like gamers.
Someone actually posted his real name on one of the Blizzard fansite, SC Legacy. 5 minutes later, someone found his facebook. 6 minutes later, someone found his sister's facebook, and the exact district, state and country of where he lives. Then, 30 minutes later, someone dig up loads of information about him like a video of his mum vacuuming the house, his interest and so on. If someone is determine enough, they can dig up a lot of information about you, easily. I even saw someone put up a link where you pay a site to stalk people online. Im not comfortable with this, as the name alone, i dont really care, but the other stuff that they could easily google them, im not ok with it. Maybe First Name will do, as it isnt that bad. Last Name would make things a lot easier for stalkers, especially those with rather unique names. Not everyone's name is John Smith. |

QUOTE(talexeh @ Jul 7 2010, 10:49 PM) With all these arguments, I think it's appropriate to come to a conclusion that different people perceive private information in different manner. The problem is, not everyone is comfortable with sharing information online, as you'll never know who will be looking at those information, especially female gamers which seem to be extremely rare. It could be your employee, your wife to some psychopath looking at those information. For me & evo, having people know our real name is nothing while to some of you, it is something. Just like Facebook where you still see someone with xXxUchihaSasukexXx while some with their real name. It's all a matter of how you set the line on how much you're willing to reveal to the outside world. GG no re. It could be ok for you to put your real name online, i, for one, im not comfortable with it,even on my own Facebook, as Mark Zuckerberg is quite infamous for leaking out private information to anyone or doesnt care about your privacy on Facebook. Internet isnt a place to store private information, IMO. I rather keep them on a piece of paper than on the net. As it was shown, anyone could easily dig up tonnes of information easily, not just about you, also about your friends and family. I dont want to see my family involved in something unpleasant due to some of my posts arguing about some epic loot in the new Battlenet forums. The way Blizzard is doing seems pretty much asking some murder over some loot to happen. Maybe just first name, but hide the surname, or maybe some other could work. Or maybe give us an option to hide the name, and only show the Battlenet nick name. Showing Battlenet nick name isnt as bad as compulsory to show your first and last name on every single post you make on the forums. What happens if Blizzard extent it to the rest of the Battlenet, as it seems like a good idea to Blizzard. To be honest, what Blizzard is doing now, with all these Real ID thing, doesnt seem like a well thought out decision. It also resembles a lot with MW2's no dedicated server issue, as the reasoning Blizzard is putting, doesnt make any sense and it looks like, they just dont care. As they just gonna lose some, and gain much more. Just like MW2, "whiny" "dedicated server lovers" hardcores are either staying in CoD4 or move on to other games like BFBC2. This could happen again. Could be a good opportunity for the new Star Wars MMO or Warhammer 40k MMO. Also, 10000+ post in less than 24 hours, wow, they are pissed. Added on July 8, 2010, 2:39 amhttp://kotaku.com/5581209/blizzards-real-name-forum-policy-has-fans-in-an-uproar Something from Kotaku. The reasoning behind the real id is decent: To make you think before you post, but the problem is, is it at the expense of your privacy? QUOTE(evofantasy @ Jul 8 2010, 10:34 AM) @ cheese Real ID on the forums is not optional.perhaps u gotta know that there is no such thing as a battlenet nickname? battlenet goes by ur registered name itself and the email for ur bnet account is always hidden... and again u keep bringing up activision dun it ever get old??? at least know about bnet system before spurring stuffs I wouldnt want to put the official forum out of the list when im having some technical issue. QUOTE(frags @ Jul 9 2010, 12:08 AM) So, this means one should not post if they have technical inquiries, bugs reporting and so on on the official forums, if they are not happy with showing their full real names. Yeah, the forums are optional, but most of the time, official forums are the best place to go, compared to fansites. On the other hand, they should go to TL, SC Legacy and so on to post their questions to be anonymous on the internet. Great decision Blizzard. Another "i dont give a crap" attitude from Activision Blizzard. Added on July 9, 2010, 12:26 am QUOTE(evofantasy @ Jul 9 2010, 12:14 AM) as stated before: OPTIONAL Yeah, it's optional, but it's pretty much saying, if you dont like showing your full name on the forums, dont come to the official forums. Then, whats the use of the official forums?"It's important to note that both enabling Real ID in game and posting on the official Blizzard forums are completely optional," the Blizzard rep said. "Players can continue to read the forums anonymously regardless of whether they choose to post in them, and their gameplay experiences will not change if they choose not to use the Real ID communication features in game." as a realID user (ingame) for WoW and SC2 so far, i'm very happy wit it... nothing beats playing sc2 while chatting with ur wow frens while waiting for matchmaking queues... Real ID is nothing, as it can be done with Steam, X-Fire and so on. And they do it much better than Blizzard's system. I prefer an overlay than a couple of boxes stacking around on my screen. QUOTE(evofantasy @ Jul 9 2010, 12:33 AM) in case u never notice, realID incorporates into ur chatbox itself and not some overlay that feels like an addon... I still like overlays at the end of the day as i hate seeing those transparent boxes floating around in the middle of a ranked match.the boxes are there in the menu since there is no chatbox... u can /w <insert real name> <insert text> and reply with /r <insert tab> and cycle through wit tab... its highly subjective, and i prefer such interface which is easy to be access over some overlays... well u can come to the official forum and still read... u just dun post if u think that people would wanna stalk u edited: avoid flamewars Overlays arent as intrusive as those chatbox, as they practically take no screen space when you are playing. It gets damn messy when you are talking to a few friends at the same time. |

QUOTE(khyron @ Jul 12 2010, 11:01 AM) It just allow you to play on different region's server, like if you own the SEA copy, you only can play on the SEA server that is located at SG, run by IAH Games. You cant change region, as it's region locked, at least for the first few months. Other than that, the game is pretty much the same. |
