thank u bros.appreciate all help smile.gif still new to this.wondering if platinum or iridium plugs and performance cable can boost power too biggrin.gif

Different feedbacks regarding this two mods. But for sure stock cables is the best icon_rolleyes.gif

As for the plugs, some ppl says they can feel some improvement, some ppl say no difference @ all. But from what i can see from the Dyno result by one of the CSI members, the graph is more smoother (no rough edges) but power & torque remains the same. So conclusion is you can feel your car RPM climb much more smoother. I would like to recommend Bosch Super 4. Best value for money for stock cars biggrin.gif

Go to my mech, RM550 all in kaotim..

Super touring flywheel + ori exedy japan clutch plate + cover + NGK bearings..

However if you ask me, why need to use bigger flywheel?? Stock flywheel + skim + stock clutch is more than enough if you never mod your engine...

dear bros,

is there any prob if i use 5W pure synthetic (bardahl) on my 1.3 magma?

mechanic said its not recommended cos there might be small holes in my old engine so leakage might happen. but i still feel like trying. what do u guys think?

I used 5-40w Chemlube and Penzoil Full Syn. Until now also no much problem except for leaking through rocker cover gasket due to poor DIY whistling.gif

Alot of things to do la especially if you are on carb...

Gonna cost you more than RM15k alone inclusive tuning + emanage...

Think about it carefully...FC would be better if you have light foot...

i need to know if i can change my carb filter to those open pod ones bcoz higher air intake will cause the engine to choke or some sort when ngv is being use

Better stick to drop in filter. Open pod is even worse unless your engine is powerful cool.gif

hi all imm new here
imm driving a saga lmst since 2005
its already 5 years old and i plan to upgrade it a lil so i can have a lil more power to it.
what upgrades should i look into first?
i just change my rims to 15inch with good year eagle f1 tyres.
im looking at some good sports spring so i could handle corners better
i drive a lot for work
like really alot
6 weeks i can clock 5k km :|
*
Eagle F1 is good smile.gif

I suggest if want to change to 15', try to source around for lighter rims wink.gif

Btw...got several problem i meet..hope to get some answer from u guys..
1. the air cond vent of mine is old version which cannot closed if feel cool..can switch to saga BLM type tat able to close it if cool? should be plug and play right?
2. the car when driving >90Km/h will smell a lot weird bau..sometime smell asap, bau minyak, and outside situation punya bau..how to solve it? Aircon filter problem? change it can solve?
3. the wind sound is loud..if i install those rubber on 4 side of door..can it reduce? i not asking for totally solve it..but at least reduce it..anyone willing to share with me how to solve this problem except pay more than 2K to do so..
4. What is the front wiper size?
5. Anyone can introduce me some acceceries shop around Enquine park or serdang area? with reasonable price and good skil..wanna install some LED and buy an armrest..anyone got good armrest for introduce? price range?

Thank for everyone tat willing to answer my question. Sharing is caring. Thank a lot  wub.gif

Welcome to the club.

1. I also want to find the same vent. If you can find the LMST 2007 aircond vent, please do let me know ya wink.gif
2. It is normal for LMST. Need to dismantle the whole dashboard (probably) and close the vent permanently.
3. No need to spend too much $$$ on soundproofing la for our car. Try to look for one fella in Garage Sales who is selling the soundproofing for the side door rubber seal..
4. Can't remember
5. Armrest - Just look @ Brothers. Performance Parts / Wiring / Audio = Look for EA Autoworks in Bukit Jalil. Abit expensive but really worth it wink.gif

QUOTE(rozz_1291 @ Oct 13 2010, 10:54 PM)
Pls avoid using those so-called swirling bullets. To me its bullsheet. The whole point of putting a center bullet/box/resonator is to resonate the sound and vibration cause from the cylinder detonation. It acts more like a sponge or dampener around the piping.

Those swirling dimples inside the bullet will cause more restriction to ur exhaust gases flow compare to stock setup.

I would recommend u to use back ur stock size piping+mandrel bend tuned length extractor+bullet/resonator (if u 1 it to be more silence) and a suitable rear muffler (inlet<2", outlet<3") maybe??? Following ur liking.

using back stock piping is to keep the heat inside the piping for a better and smoother flow (unless ur running on Fi) sleep.gif
*
I used 1.7 piping and honestly it is useless unless your engine is powerful enough to create backpressure.

Now i am reverting back to better middle piping from HB biggrin.gif

Bro, Does your car eat engine oil? Does even the issue of eating engine oil will affect the FC?
*
Yes indirectly.

Why?? Malas to explain. Can go ask catacombs..

QUOTE(evolution120 @ Oct 15 2010, 11:19 PM)
RM60 for 320KM.. RON95.. no matter how hard or light i step, the FC is still the same.. when i see u guys saying that RM10 can last around 100+km, i was like, omg, this car is really a fuel hunger..
*
Why la use the wrong method to calculate FC doh.gif

I am using 1liter/??KM

It is normal for our 4G1series engine to get 1liter = approx 10km. Carbie 1.3 / 1.5 = (average 10 - 12km per liter) ; EFI 1.3 / 1.5 = (average 12- 14km per liter).

For your case RM60 of RON 95 = 32.43liters. So total mileage is 320km, approx FC is 10km/liter which is not bad actually. Want better FC? Convert to EFi

Hmm....

Yes. Coz not only the original LMST S-Flow is noisy but not efficient enough as well.

I have a s-flow muffler for sale which looks sporty but definitely better than LMST ori muffler. Interested can call me brows.gif

I went to a mech today to service my car. He quoted around 850-950 for total overhaul to change the piston rings and such. Is it a fair price?

I spend 4 hours waiting for my car to be ready and this are the things done

change gear oil to original proton , 4 liter RM 120 ( 30 per L )
4 pcs spark plug RM 30
Engine tuning, Fixing door panel , Install brake pads, Check rear drums, adjusting throttle body . RM 90

I can see that he is really dedicated to fix my car hence if the price above is "fair" then i will consider giving him to service my car until the end of its life
*
If full overhaul then it's cheap.

However depends on his workmanship and quality of spare parts he would be using. I suggest better get him to use good quality local parts or from Japan.

'imitation oil' means fake oil/replicate oil, rite? so do u think imitation oil will cause such problem? if yes then next time i buy the engine oil to the workshop n ask them change for me so i do not need to use their oil.
*
Not sure if you use IMITATION oil or not but one thing for sure, our 4G1s engine sure have this problem.

If you always HIGH REV most probably your engine oil evaporate hence causing the problem. You can check by looking @ your engine head area see if got any engine oil seeping through the rocker cover or between the head n block. You can also change the rocker cap gasket.

For my case due to heavy leg + using full synthetic oil 10w-40, it always evaporate through my rocker cover but not too bad till engine oil missing lo...

Hmm..

If go to a workshop that you dont knw, sure they will scare you saying that need to do full / top overhaul which will cost a bomb.

But i suggest that you try to look into your engine bay first, determine which part is leaking. You can start by changing the cap gasket first. Only cost M5 if im not mistaken.

Cleaning up ur engine bay abit would also help you to see which part that is leaking smile.gif
