y do u say so??

well, TSMC has not been having good yield with 40nm chips since day 1... and the shift to HD5000 and GeForce 400 further strains the situation...

that is why AMD still have loads of RV700 GPU (aka HD4000 and HD5x5v) for the mobility market to save some stocks for desktops, and NV's production of GeForce 400 is not really taking off...

the only solution is probably at end of theyr or early next yr, when TSMC migrate to 22nm...

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Aug 30 2010, 01:17 AM)
Hi all, I just got my Asus Xonar and when I connecting it to my XPS16 and 2.1 speaker, I can only get 2.0 sound from my speaker (no sound from woofer). Also sometimes sound output from speaker tends to be distorted. So I want to know:

- how to get 2.1 sound?
- is the sound card faulty? I not sure if its setting that caused the distortion

Thanks in advance.

wat abt if u connect the speakers to ur SXPS directly?

yesterday i went to lowyat and search for this laptop . i see that thunder match price for i7 is RM 4899 then the pc sale guy said he give me price RM 4700 is this price ok guys or a rip off . can somebody tell me which shop in lowyat that sell good price or better the best . wanna buy a laptop during this raya festive . my hp netbook is so slow ..
*
step 1) go dell.com.my

step 2) config the laptop to the one as close to the one u see in the shop as possible

step 3) compare price

there's no way we can say if the laptop is worth or not unless we know wat's the exact spec...

the long estimated delivery date is juz to cover themselves... in case there's a sudden influx of order or parts shortage...

it did happened once with Studio 15 when the option of HD4570 appeared in the website... a lot of ppl rushed to grab it, and of course, it led to long delivery time for everyone...

Wadelucy:

I believe the specs are already known, even if they had errors and are not official. Whether or not the GT 445M will be available for the XPS 15 is yet to be known. i5-460M as starting processor, GT 425M as starting GPU. Number of USB ports unknown, should be 1x 3.0 and at least 1x 2.0. Full HD.

Experts, would you recommend HD 5730 over GT 445M? I know 445 is more powerful but 5730 has a handy 24/26W TDP. Concerned because Nvidia GPUs tend to be seriously hot (my "24W" GT240M ran at a cool 95C). I know 425 is for the moment inferior anyways. Design of new XPS may have the same screen/vent issue, but then it has USB 3.0 for future use.

let's juz say, GT 445M is on par with HD5850 if not better... that's almost double the performance of HD5770...

Anybody knows if the Front Side Bus Speed (2.5/4.0 GT/s) matters?

Because i5-450 and i5-580 have the highest (4.0) while all other i5s and i7s have the same (2.5).

I heard cache size is important too, but the i5s have only 3mb compared to last generation high T series with 6mb.

Guys get ready 21/22 October new XPS. Hopefully XPS 15 with GT445M and at RM4000+
*
to set the record straight it's not FSB... that's DMI (Direct Media Interface) that u re talking abt...

anyway, it's not really that important, compared to say, CPU clock and RAM clock...

If you are not willing to wait anymore (as I have done for a long time now) then ignore the fact that Sandy Bridge updates + ATI could come anywhere from January to March or April.

The fact is, the new XPS (save the 17.3 inch) are appalling. They use crappy graphics cards. Based on the questionable pictures, perhaps the vent problem is gone. But with GT435 et al you never know.

Only problem I see with going with the SXPS 16 rather than these 3 new screwups is the ugly leather and the screen/vent, and maybe lack of USB 3.0.

GT 435M??? that's already better than one of it's rival Asus N series... laugh.gif

problem is that if Dell really put in a GT 445M, all those who bought m15x can cry already...
