HDD at most is 5.9, you want better than that, need SSD
Can change, just that if the hdd got problem, its not covered by Dell.... Changing hdd and ram usually don't void the notebook warranty.... |

to the 640GB, no more...
10 000 rpm or 1TB is either too thick, too hot or just simply suck too much power making it not worth it..... Still, better SSD if speed is the priority.... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Aug 7 2010, 05:15 PM |

Either by adjusting the setting in power management to turn off the screen in 1 minutes or
use this http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html or press the projector key and choose "projector only"... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Aug 8 2010, 01:19 AM |

You can use the projector key instead....
By default, closing the screen, notebook goes to sleep.... There's function on mouse settings to disable touchpad when mouse is plugged in... |

QUOTE(LightningFist @ Aug 8 2010, 09:19 PM) I think 70-80C while playing games is quite good temp... it can depend on lots of things. Many laptops with C2D have only 60+ when playing games, but yours is the faster T series so it should be warmer. Plus, this is the Dell XPS 16. 18kfanGUI didn't work for the M1330?Yeah my laptop is usually raised as it is on top of a plastic sheet (aka cooler). The last time I tried raising my old laptop above the table uniformly by 6cm it did not change the temp much... but I could feel the heat blasting (Pentium M, Inter GC, Dell Latitude). So what I am really interested in is, does the XPS 16 allow the use of software to tweak the fan speeds? Sad that my current lappy can't... my father's XPS M1330 also can't... so I believe the XPS 16 also can't... if you could modify the fan speed then it will cool temps by a huge amount. What I heard is that the XPS 16 has a really strong fan so it tries to keep the body cool. For SXPS 16, can use MSI AfterBurner to adjust the fan speed... QUOTE(makenai_san @ Aug 8 2010, 10:15 PM) hlow user of XPS16 here.. i accidentally deleted my recovery partiton.. any idea of restoring it out? No can do....QUOTE(Pennywise @ Aug 8 2010, 10:26 PM) How do I turn off McAfee if I have to because it is detecting some of my keygens as virus. I straight uninstall the McAfee On top of that, just want to ask if it has been activated, does it mean from the day it activate till 15 mths later, I cannot deactivate it or anything like that?
