i wouldnt say starting a big party is a good option.
if the ghost is already in the house when they moved in, chances are, its very hard to scare the ghost away because the ghost sees itself as the true owner of the house (especially if its the ghost of someone who had died in that house)

best to find some master to help bring them away, not scare them away
