Yup so far that's what I know too. Only thing which is kinda certain is it is available on Apple Online Store Singapore sim free and unlocked. In physical shops, not sure.

Various reasons, wifi could be on, and it keeps trying to connect. Also battery drains faster in low signal areas. There are other factors, such as how often you set your mail to be fetched etc.

If you are migrating to Europe, my suggestion is to get the iPhone there, as you will be able to get it along with a contract etc and you will get it at a better price. But just to answer your question, assuming that Maxis gets unlocked iPhone 4 (very likely), then yes, the iPhone will work in Europe.

For flexibility, have a micro-sim adapter. That way, when you need to use your micro-sim in a normal sim card slot, you can.

Also downloaded R-Type yesterday. I cannot believe the game is 23 years old. Feels just as fun (and frustrating cos so susah) playing it today as before.

Seriously though, I agree with the others here. iPhone with no data plan is just half the experience. Much better if you get a data plan.

I've noticed that my battery life on iPhone 4 is suffering, but not because of what people might think.

This bloody thing is so beautiful, I keep playing with it even when I have nothing left to do LOL! Every 5 minutes I pick it up and turn it on, open mail, open my reader app, nothing new, put down. Repeat.

Not too sure about this. Firstly as mentioned in the article itself, the guy could have misunderstood the Sep 30th issue.

If true however, Apple better move carefully. It might be best to upgrade the harware silently, without much fanfare, as it may backfire with the original buyers angry that they were 'lied' to, as according to the press conference Apple said there was no problem.

Kinda similar to when Apple reduced the price of the iPhone, forcing Jobs to apologize and extend $100 credit to existing users.

In any case, only a month away. For now, looking forward to tomorrows media event. Hoping for new iPod Touch with Facetime, can buy as birthday present for my grandparents, easier to communicate

Added on September 1, 2010, 1:51 amLOL yeah actually my iPhone 4 battery life is much better than my 3GS. Was just saying that its so beautiful, and feels so nice in the hand, I end up using it sooo much more, I'm in love with it.

Kind of a compliment to the iPhone 4, my most beautiful gadget I've owned to date.

By the way app recommendation: Pulse. It's a reader app, but the difference is it's layout which makes it attractive to read.

I don't know, went the unlocking route with the original iPhone. That experience was enough to make me never want to go that route again.

The convenience of just clicking the Update button in iTunes is unmatched. I would advise you to get a factory unlocked unit.

Any musicians here? I noticed this app called AmpliTube which I think is really cool.

It basically turns your iPad or iPhone into virtual guitar and bass rigs. You will need an iRig interface sold by the same company. After that its literally plug in your electric guitar, and play!

I'm really tempted to buy this. Imagine pulling this out at your friend's house, then just plugging in an electric guitar into your iPhone. Insane!

A couple of things. First, do a restart (just in case). Just press home button and power button, and keep holding until Apple logo comes up.

After that, just make sure when you are making a call, that your volume is up. Make a call, then while on the call press the volume up button.

A bit obvious I know, but actually I faced the same thing in the beginning, you never know.

If not, then definitely send back under warranty. No point trying to fix a defective unit, when you can get a brand new one.



On to the keynote, first of all that must have been the smoothest live streaming I have ever seen. Watched the whole thing on my iPhone.

Excited about iPod Touch, to me it has just become a communications device for my non-savvy relatives (my grandparents).

Apple TV also finally caught my wallet, with its great new price, and streaming capabilities.

Nano and Shuffle are ok, but then again, what more can we expect from these devices. Nano makes a nice first intro MP3 player I guess.
