Actually, I read somewhere that the apps are not running in the background. That is just a list of your previously used apps. Only 2-3 apps would be running in the background. It is there basically for your convenience, basically in suspended animation.
*
Exactly. And the apps that are running in the background are things like the iPod, GPS navigator, VoIP, etc. iOS 4 will run as many apps possible as long as the memory can handle it. Beyond that, apps go into suspension until brought back to life.

But if you get a UK unit, if any problems occurred, that would mean going back to UK to claim the warranty, right?

does anyone feel the multitasking not good to use?
*
Nope. Multitasking is agreeably the best feature on the iOS to date. It just works perfectly.

Rheza, note that I said it's the best feature on the iOS. I am not comparing it to Android's or any other OS' multitasking capabilities.

Turn on your Camera app, flick the switch to video, and turn the flash on. It will stay on until the time you set to Auto-Lock is set to. As with all security feature of any iPhone with Microsoft Exchange email set in, the Auto-Lock will have a maximum of 5 minutes before it turns the iPhone off due to inactivity. If you dont have any Microsoft Exchange mail set up, the option "Never" is available, so with that set in, your flash LED will be on, forever....until the battery runs out.
*
Or, you could download this app called "Flashlight". Apparently it works with the LED flash now.

Guys, apparently some US factories are selling the unlocked version of the iPhone 4. Do you think it's safe to buy? They cost USD 699. They are also legit.

what do u mean by some factories selling unlocked units?

btw, with ios4 , how to get to favourites?
*
Meaning you could go to the Apple factory and purchase their unlocked units for USD 699 (not incl. tax). My friend's mum is really considering buying one. I was thinking of asking her to get one for me while she's there. tongue.gif Do you guys think it's safe?

There are no Apple factories in US. They're all in Shenzen, China, and they're moving to Vietnam, after the Foxconn case. If you're getting it from China, anything not passed through Apple's cash register will not be entered into their database as a legitimate unit, and the iPhone serials need to be entered into their system to be registered as an unlocked unit.
*
I see. She probably meant somewhere else, not a factory. I'll ask her again. Because as far as I know, US only sells locked sets, but then she told me otherwise. I figured it could be true. Anyone here have any experience with this?

dude there is no way to get an unlocked set in the US, he was probably misinformed, fact of teh matter is he even said Apple factory in the US when there was never any, even if they do sell unlocked units its probably imported from the UK or France.
*
I'll double check. Let you guys know in a few days.

Hey.. Please provide more information on this... I am currently in US... I have ask a few places and they all said that all the iphone 4 is lock to AT&T...
*
Sorry for the misleading information. She says that her brother, who's in Canada, says that you can get a factory unlocked unit for around 800 CAD.

issues as in the signal bar ?
Yep, that's what I meant. Apparently some LYN members are experiencing a lower signal now. My guess is that it's always been lower; it was messed up before.

most prob those buyers r spoilt rich kids, smart ppl will not gonna waste their hard earned $ on problematic items, just my opinion

As seen, the problem is that not all iPhone 4 units are affected. In fact, I didn't notice any degradation in signal during the iPhone 4 gathering held by stringfellow. Majority of the iPhone 4 users here will agree with me. It might just be an AT&T thing.

This is why people still want to purchase the iPhone 4, despite its recent problems.

Question for iPhone 4 owners:

Is the all-new scratch-resistant screen all that they claim it to be? Have you noticed any scratches on your 4's glass surface? I keep reading posts about scratches on the iPhone 4's surface under normal usage. It's got me wondering if I should get a screen protector for my upcoming iPhone 4.

its just scratch RESISTANT..not scratch proof..

Yes, I understand that. I just want to know if anyone who has the iPhone 4 has experienced any scratches under normal usage.
