QUOTE(dzerg @ Jul 18 2010, 01:19 AM) Got your another new iPhone 4 d? Tha was fast. QUOTE(Masamune @ Jul 18 2010, 02:26 AM) Speaking of the survey..I just realized something. Yeah disabling 3G will help since gsm service is more widespread than 3gSince the start i got my iPhone 4 I've been enabling 3G. So to conserve battery i decided to off the 3G. Surprisingly my reception is at full bar all the times. And even when i repeat doing those steps at the survey i get better results. Maybe my area 3G service is not as good. Just to let u guys know so u can try them out too. When i get back to Moscow i'll try it out with the telcos there. |

QUOTE(ck_yoong @ Jul 20 2010, 03:10 PM) Hmm that is weird because even using a cheapo sticky tape did the job. Did you apply the full body coverage including the side bands..? yeah but the side band does not fully cover the antenna. there are still some gaps. I am not really satisfied with the IS tho. will probably change to a new SP soon. |

hassle free if you pay by card. if you pay by cash you need to walk in to retail store and claim. |

To be frank, I do experience antenna issue when using my iPhone 4 without bumper and tested it using the iPhones tht i have in hand. I also received some feedbacks of survey that i carried out using PM.
To my findings, the earlier batches seems to be working fine but the later batches are experiencing problems with the antenna and the problem seems to be more severe. I did not receive any feedback from the latest batch tho. Apple might have fixed it in some of the newer batches according to some other forum. However, none of the people I have surveyed encounter signal lost on normal usage. The only occurrence of signal loss is when you hold it the way known as the grip of death which is a very awkward way to hold your phone. I think the antenna problem is really a hyped out problem. Any phone will experience it as Apple has pointed out. Apple has tried to keep the customers happy by giving free case for iPhone. This will drag their reputation and publicity down. Damage has been done. Apple will patch the problem in the newer iPhones and also release a new firmware to fix it. For me personally the antenna issue doesn't affect me at all. I rather have a speedy iPhone 4 with delicious retina display to play and enjoying every moment of it rather than worrying about the antenna issue. Its just a small matter to me even at my house in UK i do not have a strong signal but as long as there is 1 bar i still can make a call. As for Apple's move, some people will think Apple is ignorant with their problematic iPhone but notihng is perfect in this world. Anyways, enough of me ranting about the antenna issue. guess i need to hit the sack |

QUOTE(giovanni @ Jul 28 2010, 04:07 AM) Chizzu, how long did it for you to get your second batch of IP4?? I don't know why this round it takes so much longer. The first time it took exactly 2 weeks. I will report to you again when i get the new batch whether or not there is signal problem i am not sure. the last time i waited for about a month i think.QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Jul 28 2010, 10:08 AM) because it started as an iOS 4 thread... then renamed to iphone 4 n ios4 Signal loss is depending on the area you are in so it is quite hard to say but i tested all units in UK and Malaysia without bumper and on normal usage i did not encounter severe signal loss. I cant say that i have 100% full bar or no signal loss at all coz it depends on various factors. There will be signal loss when i use it normally but that is not really a concern as it does not affect my usage.chizzu, so normal grip (whatever that's normal to you) wont cause signal loss on your unit? As for my iPhone i have been using it with bumper since the first day. So i am not really bothered about the antenna issue. But to prove that the issue really causing problem i did a couple of tests myself and asked a couple of forumers to help. On normal usage (i tried using my phone without bumper for a day) it doesnt really affect me but only when i hold it a certain way i will experience severe signal loss until to a point where i get "No Service". |
