which want do you want 14 inches or i5.6 inches laptop..

asus a42jv is lighter than SXPS16..

performance of them is around the same.. although GT335 maybe slightly better and newer..

well.. SXPS 16 is Full HD [1080p] while Asus A42jv is just WXGA..

speaking about warranty.. asus a42jv is better in term of period.. but dell has better services..

GT 335M > HD4670

but SXPS16 has full HD monitor, great for movies...

basically gamer - A42Jv

a bit of everything - SXPS16

turbot boost = only 1 core getting boosted...

frankly, i seldom see Dynamic Acceleration (same thing as Turbo Boost, but much lower rate) working in Core 2... the only time i see it ruunning is during driver install...

it is actually depend on the application that you running..

such as if gaming.. not all games is compatible with HTT.. and yet.. HTT is a bit useless [in that game]

but if the software and application is compatible... then the turbo boost is good..

well, Asus has always been good when comes to heat...

i am using Asus N81Vp... during gaming, even the temperature shoots to 90+C, i dun feel any heat coming from the keyboard at all...

but of course, this is a N series we are talking abt afterall... however, looking at it's track record, even the old K40Ab and K50Ab which runs on the notoriously hot old AMD CPU and still come with a dedicated GPU are still pretty cool to fiddle with... nod.gif

frankly speaking, any laptop would heat up, that's the law of physics... it's juz a matter of how hot only...

V3000 has some design flaw which makes it cannot cool down effetively, coupled with NV chipset and old AMD CPU, that's a formula for disaster...

as i said, Asus has been good with their cooling even for their budget series... go ahead and get A42Jv, u won't be disappointed...

well, if u want me to say the truth, u never know how bad the cooling is for any laptop u see...

thing is, u can't open up and see how's the cooling built inside the laptop... even if u can, u also can't determine if it's effective or not...

so it's sort of like a gamble, especially with new models... since there's no reviews or user opinions to reference to...

all i can say is, overheat or not, it's 90% user management and 10% luck....

just bring the asus to any highpoint service center .

diff is there for sure , as you pay more $$$ if you want to go for dell . asus already have standard 2 year warranty.

go for asus .a42jv

Asus is standard 2yrs international warranty, while Dell is standard 1yr XPS Premier with 1yr Complete Cover...

if any thing happen, Asus is that u need to bring the laptop to the svc center (High Point iirc), while for Dell, u juz need to call them and they will dispatch a technician to ur place and fix it on the spot...

for Asus u can't extend the warranty, but for Dell, u can top up to longer (up to 3yrs) or more complete service (24x7 support)...

as we all said, A42Jr gets our vote...

unless, Full HD monitor is a must for u...

I would rather go for Asus A42Jv than Asus A42Jr[it is unavailable now]

but well.. as many of us said.. A42Jv is the laptop of the month...

actually at first I thought this lappy are come with GT 325... but suddenly shocked when C-Zone stated.. it come with GT 335.. which is far better than GT325..

that is good..

go for Asus A42Jv...

want to start a thread..?

i guess no need.. just ask TS of Asus A42/A52 JR/JK >>> http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1409216

to add A42/A52 JV ... well it also J series though.. thumbup.gif

anti virus suggest u change to others like Microsoft Security Essentials, Avira or avast...

as for Asus software, only Power4Gear Hybrid and Splendid Video are worth keeping, u can remove the rest as u see fit...
