If you want experience join any service company, Technip being French are not the most generous of the lot, lagipun at 27 you only have 3 more years to go offshore before you're officially banned/desk bound. In Schlumberger you need to be below 30 for your first offshore passport.
Look, you don't need 2 MBA's MSC's to get a good pay. My friend with a normal UTM Chemical Engineering degree just 2nd class upper aja, is already a certified deepwater specialist at 26, at 25 he managed to do recovery for drilling mud worth USD5M which would otherwise been a very costly disposal. Btw now at 30 is is they youngest MD of a drilling fluid plant company, a local malaysian singh and he only make 30K plus a month, which is about an expat's salary, excluding bonuses and benefits.
As for me, I graduated at 29 ha ha ha, with a degree in Marketing doing part time in UPM, I make above average as a former supply chain manager for a service company, a business analyst and now I am about to let go of all that at 35. Both of us are moving on to set up our own company not related to OnG. So you're still thinking of studying eh? Hmm my former procurment assistant is now Fasttrack on MI as new Field Manager at 27, grad at 24 worked for me as procurement assistant for six months and had a hire letter from Houston. Btw she's a girl, 5 '1 a Sabahan.
There's only so much that can be read from the books. In this business its all about work experience, comparing that to the basics that you have learned and building contacts. So if you still would like to read/study to me that's a big loss on your end. To me you're too old and too late to go offshore already and perhaps a teaching job or a research job would be more suited. Get off the books and start doing practical stuff. Its my advise, nak dengar x nak sudah, but you're way way way behind the curve...
Hey appreciate ur reply.
Thanx for the tickle of the mind..
My future boss at Pet told me to take up the offer 1st thn later I can jump into Corporate Safety (technical site) or something else related to my qualification. But lately I came to knw many new hires resign aftr 1-2 yr coz they never given a role that they wanted.. Lots of technical grads thrown into non-technical.And there r 1000s waiting in the Job Change Application (JCA) queue at Petronas.

How many years will you be bonded to Technip if you take their offer? While I will say it's never a good thing to get your hands and feet tied to a company because you'll have zero bargaining power as long as you're with them, if the bond is for a few years then it may be a good thing after all.
Updated info-No bond.
Employment offer upon completion.

Local u master depends on the courese.
U can finish within 1 yr if you can stand the stress.
Min 1 yr, Max 4 yr.
Time Mgmt & commitment needed.

i'm come from engineering background and currently in engineering dept in O&G company. the position and my roll is compatible.
i read for 5 years to get my roll and once started working, i have to learn from scratch again.
bottoline is, work experience counts more than the roll
Learning is a non-stop process.
Evrtime we change company/ industry we need to start frm almost zero again.New environment, new challenges.

petronas is the best place to work. work security, lifetime n great benefits!
It's arguable and a very subjective statement.
It all depends on what you expect from ur employer and vice versa..

Which industry are you from?
Based on what points?
By the time I complete this prgm I'll be in my early 29 with 1 bachelor n 2 masters but 0 experience.
Lecturing is not my choice
