credit to aemuse at SSF for finding an article about it:

and here's my translation of most of the text (please correct me if i got anything wrong...jun, i'm looking at you

)
akashi is from medicom (on the left at the bottom), and bill is from enterbay (on the right)
akashi - it all began with enterbay proposing to us "what shall we do together?"
bill - i've been a longtime fan of medicom, they were always extremely creative and matched the market well. i was a big bruce lee fan since i was small. the reason i started enterbay was because i bought the bruce lee figures released by medicom.akashi - it's an honour. we already knew the quality of enterbay's products, so thinking about what sort of very first project was suitable, we thought that if we did yusaku matsuda's detective story and worked together, we could really make an epoch defining product. we sent bill the whole reel [movie].
bill - even now we're checking it every day, but it's really interesting isn't it? even if you don't understand the intricate japanese, you can really feel matsuda's intensity and natural charisma.
akashi - it's been roughly ten years since Detective Story figures, but if we make them with enterbay, we'll undoubtedly be able to make something very cool, maybe even causing a revival as a product.
bill - what do you think of the prototype we've made so far?
akashi - as expected, we thought wow. especially the transparency of the skin, the facial expression, realism etc.
bill - as mr. akashi said, the translucency of the skin really comes through. This time we used Medicom's body, and without wondering about the use of our own body, we feel the total balance of the figure is extremely good.
akashi - we plan to release within the year. we'd like to release it before the anniversary of yusaku's death (november 6th), but this is still uncertain.
bill - 1/6 figures that companies have been making on their own until now, that we now co-operate and make together, are very fresh, and perhaps fans too were hoping for such a thing.
akashi - i think that it would be great if from henceforth, the strong points of enterbay and ourselves that have gone into this ultimate unison, progressed to various other future projects.
from the column on the left:
Detective Story is a Japanese TV drama that aired from September 1979 to April 1980 (a total of 27 episodes). Yusaku Matsuda's hardboiled private detective, Shuichi Tsujiyama, goes about investigating various cases armed with his wit. Now, the very first release from Ultimate Unison is this 1/6 figure of Yusaku Matsuda, with body and accessories by Medicom, and sculpt and clothing by Enterbay. The photo is of a trial product, and may well be different from the released product. Detailed specs, release date and price will be in next month's issue.
with medi license and enterbay skill?... i go vote for MGS enterbay
