Hi ... I am new to media player. Hope you could help me.

I am interested in the HiMedia HD600F (Wifi version) - now promotion RM250 at Page 1, but I have a few question.

a) Can I plug external HDD to USB to play movie/picture/music ?
b) I see in the picture, all is chinese word on the TV. Can change language to English?
c) The free HDMI cable is how long? Got 2m? If no, how much extra to change to 2m?
d) Ship to Penang got any extra charge ?

Juz bought q5 fr your dig mall kiosk. All ok and good except :
1. Airplay not working, can see the logo at ipad but when connect to q5 will bounce back
2. Hicontrol and hishare app at phone but when both connect, mentioned no device detected.

How to overcome this? Upgrade fw or i missed some steps?

make sure ur q5 n ur phone or ipad at same network n nid ur wifi speed a bit fast... we test here all should be ok de....

Hi bro, i got mine few days ago. And i experience the same thing too.
First WIFI was weak - Then i place it on top of tv bench instead of under.. wifi full bar and fast, so consider solved.
Secondly is my HiControl and Wireless Keyboard & mouse, pretty bad laggy - Later i plug external USB hub away from the Q5 maybe 1.5 feet, now everything smooth like butter.

This Q5 experience is like i when got my first Android Froyo but better. Task killer Auto Kill is a must else you will experience laggy too.

Great we can share our exp here.

1. Wifi part ok for me, but i will now also put it up. Maybe even faster.
2. Wireless mouse is laggy. I will put a wired one tonight to assess.
3. Hi share and hi control working now. Its laggy but at least working. Hi share is a slim down version of airplay. If u exp airplay before in apple tv. This only allow u to access pic, video and music. No ff and rewind function. To see nx pic, music or video, u hv to come out , select nx song and enter.
4. Airplay fr ipad still cannot. Can see the button, but when connect, will force close.
5. Ok, will dl task killer. Try dl kuwo music, nice. Kugou not working, force close.
6. None of the android music player apps downloaded can read ur song fr hard disk. And there is no music player built in default. Wonder how play songs fr your hard disk?

Regarding your #6.
I yet try Music Player but i try Video Gallery setup with the Apps "mVideoPlayer", tried for whole night and still can't detect find my USB HDD location.
mVideoPlayer is the best looking video gallery with player but i choose Other Player instead of using the built-in. But too bad, it can't detect my HDD else will be awesome. Will continue trying tonight.

I think apps from android might not able detect usb hdd. Sdcard usually ok.
I used mx player no prob detecting usb hdd.
U can get more info fr reading this unit at china forum.

Abt hitv. Pps is smooth, no buffer needed. Xunlei super lag. For 2 hr movie, maybe buffer 30min before u play for 480p quality. Haha.

One more thing i found out, if your TV can support 720P movie/series from usb HDD, try to compare the rendering quality.
The Q5 quality not so so good, i wonder is it because of Android. I wonder how others Media Player like Realtek Chipset compare with this Q5.
I guess paying rm400 for media player is not there yet to get good in overall quality

One more funny stuff, if u play a movie from hdd, subtitle is at top left corner. Shouldnt it be bottom centre?

Yes, it should be center (mine at the bottom center).
Have you try on the Menu button on the remote to adjust the Sub location while watching movie?

u can recommend me a media player for my HD movie(mkv, avi, etc) , smooth playback with no lag, and good sound quality with image.

better to have youtube, and durable, dont use more than 1 year rosak one.
