Age of Wonders is a decent turn-based strategy game, if I remembered correctly.

I have about USD20 worth of blue coins in Gamer's Gate.

Do I have to use it within a certain time limit or I can just leave it there till I find something I want during sales?

I was quite surprised as I thought I would not have been able to participate in the preloading of Total War: Shogun 2 when I purchased my copy from Gamer's Gate.

Not used to seeing 20% off nowadays.

Spoilt by the many midweek / weekend sales.

why u wan to make it as steam game ? u need to pass though 2 DRM.... ><

Sometimes it is easier to have all games in one place.

Just need to screen through one single list instead of several.

Then again, always better to have several places that you can download the game from, in case Steam / Impulse / GOG / Gamer's Gate closes down.

However, to buy games using blue coins, you'll need the full amount.

Ie. if it cost USD5 worth of blue coins, u'll have to pay USD5 worth of blue coins. Not USD2.50 in cash with USD2.50 in blue coins.

So far I like Gamer's Gate system as I can earn blue coins with each purchases. Hope to reach black level soon then I'll get 10% worth of blue coins with each purchase.

Yar, I like the blue coins system too, I usually keep them to buy very cheap games on offer that are only few usds.

Still better than nothing to get some of the amount of purchases back.

Moreover higher level of membership (the yellow/red/black thing) means sometimes bigger sales (like sales can be 50% for yellow, 60 for red and 70 for black)

Holy crap, I didn't know that.

So far I have been buying Steamwork games and some older games from Gamer's Gate.

Downloading my UFO:Trilogy from Gamer's Gate.

Bought it for less USD5, thanks to the blue coin earned from some other purchases.

Be wary that my Midnight Club 2 on Steam does not work on my Windows 7 64bit but it works on Windows XP.

GamersGate Offering Free Ad-Based PC/Mac Games

QUOTE
Wednesday digital distribution service GamersGate announced the upcoming launch of FreeGames, a free-to-play ad-supported platform for PC and Mac titles. The new site will allow users to download, install and play up to five titles at once free of charge, but are required to watch a short advertisement at the launch of the game.

"The new service offers the best of both worlds for both gamers and publishers,"said Theodore Bergquist, CEO at GamersGate. "Gamers can play games for free, catch up on franchises or try a game out before they buy. Publishers will receive ad revenue while expanding their audience. We’ve always been at the forefront of the digital delivery business and I’m confident that our new service will help reshape the industry."

GamersGate currently offers over 3,000 titles including the upcoming Duke Nukem Forever and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Darkspore, Dragon Age 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2 and loads more. GamersGate expects that a large portion of its current library will be available in the ad-supported model for the September launch.

As seen here, the FreeGames website features a countdown timer and a place to sign up for the beta. There's also indication that users will have an option to add additional games on top of the 5-title limit (a monthly all-you-can-eat subscription perhaps?), but specific details are not provided. GamersGate will either reveal more this week at E3 2011, or announce the available games list closer to the platform's launch
