For those who feels a bit adventurous, you can try these battery saving tricks...

As you know, milestone is running at 550mhz with a stock voltage setting of 56vsel which translate to 1.3volt. Using the milestone overclock app, we can set a custom voltage and speed settings to overclock and under clock the phone to our needs. Some guys with droid has achieved quite a good speed with lower voltage settings. Lower voltage means better battery life and cooler battery temp. As a start, you can try running 550mhz with 50vsel and slowly decrease it while testing to make sure everything runs fine, there are people out there running their phone even with 36vsel and they are fine but no cpu is the same so results can be different.

Mind you that meddling with voltages is a risky business, so try at your own risk.

try this app - Quick Vibrate, it will modify your lock swipe. left to right for unlock as usual, right to left for vibrate, silent and ring.

just overclock it to 800mhz. actually that is the actual intended clock so we cant call it overclock then. if you run quadrant with that speed, it actually matches the results of both nexus one and desire running 2.1.

Added on August 16, 2010, 9:27 amerr, i think i have mistakenly posted in the wrong milestone section tongue.gif

i was talking about the xt720.

dont use benchmark. play some 3d games for half an hour and then browse internet with hsdpa connection for an hour. if u dont get a reboot then it should be fine. mind you that overclocking will stress some components in an already cramped space, there is no ventilation like overclocking pc, so be careful.

How could he do that when he is unable to download anything from the market?

Anyway, try doing a factory reset before sending the phone.

You can earn money even if you still a student. There are a lot of ways to make $ nowadays.

Anyway, I guess it's still ok to receive froyo at the end of the year, rather than not getting any update at all. I guess moto was very busy with both droid x and droid 2 and only now they have time to focus on other phones.

When plugged in, bring down the notification bar and select the usb connection. Change it to memory card access to read sd card, before unplugging change it back to charge only just in case.

Europe will get froyo end of this year, as for asian countries, it will be early next year.

its big because it has so many languages that we never use. there is a way to remove all of them leaving only english but i dont bother to do it tongue.gif

i never tried swiftkey or other swipe-style keyboard, so far i found swype is good enough for me.

I think the case itself absorb the heat that's why it lowers the battery temperature but I can't confirm that since I've sold my milestone. Too bad otterbox didn't make any case for the xt720 sad.gif

Anyway it's good to hear that the otterbox really did its job.

H is for hsdpa

Download apndroid from the market so you can turn off data connection when you don't wanna use it.
