Corrosion means water already got inside the phone, and it has been there for quite sometime. I believe the only solution is to replace the whole mother board which of course very expensive no matter where you do it.

If you synced your contacts and emails, you can always get them back when you link another android phone with your gmail account.

1. Some ppl/shop sometimes labelled the xt720 as ms2
2. All ms should be updated to 2.36 becos it fixes a lot of bugs
3. If your phone acting weird when plugged in to wall charger, is it the original charger or not?
4. Its normal for ms to heat up. Its pretty scary actually, happens mostly if its on 3g network. Normally I only use 3g when tethering or browsing heavy pages.

I'm not sure whether moto engineers really tested how hot the phone could be when used on 3g/hsdpa network but to me it is too hot that i can't even put my fingers at the back part of the phone. It's damn hot that I thought it might actually blow up tongue.gif

becareful using non-original batteries because they lack of testing and quality assurance. ever heard of batteries blowing up?

that response from moto is just utter bull$hit, xda guys have been producing stable froyo release for quite some time now and moto said they cant fix things? my guess, thats just another way of saying "we have no time to provide froyo for that phone, just buy the atrix for quick fix"

motorola is busy working on the new phones such as atrix, bionic, xoom. for sure they have limited resources on updates for old ones.
