oh ya, the CM6 mod does not include the stock Google apps. U have to dl them from here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?titl...ion#Google_Apps
Just put it in ur "update" folder of the recovery that u are using, then flash it from recovery First post updated with links to Froyo downloads |

Good job on the instructions there xxboxx!
btw, memhack is enabled by default in CM6 Feels snappier for me. I test by pressing screen preview for Launcher Pro. In 2.1, it was a little choppy. In CM6, it's butter smooth That said, there are some minor bugs here n there (a stand out one might be when going back to homescreen, sometimes it takes a while to load the widgets. phone reboots while connecting usb for sd card access), but I think the extra built-in features of the mod are worth the hassle here |

yep, battery life is definitely superb! And so far random reboot only happened once. Before this it reboots a lot during idle.

CM6 users, have u heard of the Gingerbread theme for our phone? An XDA member has created one specifically for our CM6 mod. I've tested it and it looks & works great!
QUOTE Things to look out for - New notification status bar icons - Animations for closing or opening of windows and settings. - Lots of other cool stuff FYI, here's the XDA thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864300 Here's a preview: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by scpt: Dec 17 2010, 05:54 PM |

Use the same method when u flash the CM6 mod. Apply update through Recovery. Don't forget to wipe cache & Dalvik cache.
Note: if u update to the latest version of CM6 when it's released, u will need to reapply the theme |

Nice post on the installation guide there Charcoal!
Note for those who are unaware: for Cyanogen install, wipe data/fac reset only during first install. Installing subsequent updates does not require a data reset, unless u wanna lose ALL ur data Also, for those who use LauncherPro in CM6 and experience the frequent reload of the homescreen, try moving the app to the /system partition and delete the one on /data (using ADB or Root explorer) then reboot ur phone. It works for me. Tried it yesterday and zero homescreen reload since |

QUOTE(xxboxx @ Dec 27 2010, 09:28 PM) use vignette. Much better than stock camera. Nandroid backup should include apps & data as well, I've tried it before. It works by "copying & pasting" everything including settings etc. Only thing that don't work properly is that the time will change. Maybe u didn't use the backup all option?[/spoiler] And actually no need nandroid backup, coz it will just backup the stock rom, no additional apps or user data will be backup. I try recover b4, damn, all my data gone.. You should put guide for data backup, such as sms and apps. QUOTE(under18 @ Dec 28 2010, 12:16 AM) what is the full path for /system and /data for the launcherpro apps? before moving: /data/app/com.fede.launcher-2.apk i cant find in /data the launcherpro after moving: /system/app/com.fede.launcher-2.apk Ok I've noticed some reloads now, but only after I use a memory intensive app, like 3D Gallery & certain games. Still, it's much less than before QUOTE(shiloong7081 @ Dec 28 2010, 01:39 PM) Thanks charcoal, for the super useful guide. now mine is running on froyo ! Eager to try out the latest sbf. But I've come to live with the CM mod features, kinda hard to go without them now.
Then again, the LauncherPro keeps reloading issue seems to be getting worst and I'm considering giving the Brazilian sbf a go |
