QUOTE Pelanggan Komputer 1Malaysia akan terus membayar harga yang sama selepas 24 bulan manakala pelanggan HP akan membayar harga yang sama seperti pelanggan Komputer 1Malaysia hanya selepas 24 bulan. QUOTE(firesfrog @ Jun 18 2010, 01:14 AM) You're referring to the 1Malaysia package where you get a free local brand netbook for RM38/month OR HP netbook for extra RM21 (total = RM59) for two year contract. After 24 months, those who took HP netbook will pay only RM38 just like those who took local netbook BTW, RM38 is for 384kbps speed.

QUOTE(Sham903n @ Jun 20 2010, 05:59 PM) RM38 bucks for 384kbps unlimited with no telephone rent RM26 on top of it is wrong price ? or should it be RM26 phone rent + RM12 for 384kpbs unlimited combo? the real price is actually RM12 if your good in math.. (im not) QUOTE(Sham903n @ Jun 21 2010, 07:51 PM) its no phone rental: its stated there, Voice:waive Then how about the RM20 package? Does this mean I actually save 6 bucks off my regular phone line rental? [attachmentid=1639151]

QUOTE(Maxieos @ Jun 22 2010, 04:46 PM) So is it really RM 20 for 30 hours with free installation ? with contract 1 year ? It seems to me the package includes the RM26 phone line rental. So forget the Streamyx, forget the 30 hours, I actually save on my phone rental if I apply this package. Did I understand this correctly? RM26 + 30 hour Streamyx = RM20 ???

QUOTE(Sham903n @ Jun 22 2010, 08:43 PM) oh ya... after reading it carefully at the bottom its says "adalah untuk di langgani oleh pelangan di kawasan tertentu sahaja" Damn! Didn't see that! Like the Jalur Lebar dengan Komputer 1Malaysia package. Also said the same thing there. Or do they mean "designated area" as places where they have ports? Is that damned line in the regular combo/blockbuster package too?

QUOTE(billytong @ Jun 24 2010, 01:21 PM) They need to rem the kawasan yang telah dikenal pasti oleh TM sahaja dengan pendapatan isi rumah kurang daripada RM5000 sebulan bagi kawasan bandar dan RM3000 bagi kawasan luar bandar.. I thought the RM5000 or RM3000 income requirement was for the 1Malaysia package with netbook? This is the thread for Jimat Hebat package or does it have the same income requirements? If so then better take the netbook option instead. Can't find any reference to the Jimat Hebat package on Streamyx site.

QUOTE(Sham903n @ Jun 25 2010, 01:32 AM) its really for designated area not only for kampung, but low cost flats even in towns etc.. Im trying to get confirmation on this.. "for designated area" probably means so called "rich" taman cannot apply. If so, then next to useless for a lot of people like the poor guy in another forum thread who cannot subscribe special package because living in kampung next to "rich" taman.

QUOTE(Sham903n @ Jun 26 2010, 08:41 PM) the sales person will conduct service availability on designated area before the open sales booth, they will handle registration.. its suppose to have a walk in registration too... hmm... I'd say it's not so much a matter of "service availability" as "qualifying area" for sales.

QUOTE(Sham903n @ Jun 27 2010, 05:55 PM) yalah.. vely smart..lor.. everything also you right la.. i all wrong.. heres what the real expert say about broadband dont tell me that they are wrong also *slap forehead* and you right http://searchtelecom.techtarget.com/sDefin...i211706,00.html gawd... that word of yours "syok sendiri" really give a true meaning can we stop about what is broadband in this tread already? you can open another tread for that debate The US FCC defines broadband as speeds of 768kbps and above only whatever the transmission medium. And if the ISP can't maintain their transmission speed above that level, then they are no longer offering "broadband". Added on June 27, 2010, 9:11 pmQUOTE(Sham903n @ Jun 27 2010, 05:55 PM) yeap package if apply in tmpoint by arrangement i think.. cant just walk in In other words, by invitation only? QUOTE(Sham903n @ Jun 27 2010, 09:50 PM) ohh.. brother... the world live by FCC rules? is the world USA? simple... why are our cars not left hand drive? oh ya are we in thailand?? The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent agency of the United States government Simply comparing against best practices. I'm sure South Korea would not consider 768kbps as broadband. QUOTE However, the term broadband does not refer to either a certain speed or a specific service. Broadband combines connection capacity (bandwidth) and speed. We got the capacity but do we have the speed? This post has been edited by totally_skint: Jun 28 2010, 12:22 AM

If Streamyx can offer a 30 hour package (up from normal 10 hours), 384 must be considered plenty fast in their books
