It's really depends what you do with your phone. If you wanna read e-book, go for Laputa, the best e-reader so far on Android. Dropbox, ADW Launcher, ASTRO, ColorDict, Winamp, Swype, Photoshop Express, GPS Status, Papago X5, exPDF Reader. Just to name a few.

The blinking gps icon means that the Papago is trying to get a gps lock. It might take long time if u at indoor area, try download gps status for gps lock before running Papago, I find it way faster than Papago initiating the gps.

By default I think it should only play 3gp and mp4 files, check the white paper for Xperia X8 below.

Resolution should be the native resolution of Xperia X8, then it should play fine on the device.

It's a bug in 2.1, though somebody doesn't have this issue. Turn your phone to silent or vibration mode before you plug in USB. It should solve the issue for now.

Yes, I do. I have mentioned before, though some mentioning they don't have this issue, I thought I am alone. I have tried, any apps or even the original camera app would auto restart the phone frequently, for now I have not found any workaround to prevent this, very frustrating indeed.

Yup, I echo what you said. X8 is really a nice phone, except it can't go to 2.2 or 2.3 for now, hopefully SE change their mind in the near future.

It seems LG Optimus One is a better alternative if one is looking for X8.

Hmmm ... I am not sure but in terms of camera and bettary life, I would say optimus one should win, although I didn't have any hands on experience on it, but auto focus and 1500mAh battery can't go wrong (as opposed to fixed focus and 1200mAh in X8), but probably UI is a good one for first time smartphone user. Correct me if I am wrong though.

Regarding the Chinese song coding, try to change the idtag using mp3tag (simply save the tag, I forgot v1 or v2), then it show up correctly. Using winamp though, but should work for the original player.

What happen to the light sensor? I guess there is no way to disable it, I have looked for it for white some time.

Wootz, you guys able to update without changing the SI code? It seems my phone still don't have the update :/

Hi guys, need some help here.

I need someone help to verify if it's my phone issue or all X8 have the same issue.

Start Camera (stock), then go back homescreen, then lock the phone, then start camera (stock) again. Most of the time my phone will restart itself, same goes to Vignette app on the phone. (happens in 1.6, 2.1, and latest 2.1)

I have saw a few people having the same issue, but seems like most of you guys doesn't have this issue, so I am thinking to send back to seller for a repair/replacement since it's a manufacturing defect.

Help me guys! Thank you!

Thanks bro, if there all fine to you after a few times cycle, guess it's my unit problem then. My unit always tend to restart when I start up the camera between these steps.

All other X8 owner also can try and see if your unit have the same problem.
