Only 1.6?? SE take very long time to port 2.1 into X10 and now i think this phone will never get the gingerbread update from google.
i hope it have capacitive screen, no more hardware limit that force user to used it as resistive screen unit, if not shame on you SE... |

QUOTE(TZERNG @ Jun 16 2010, 08:58 PM) Hope this answer u....http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/cat...peria-x10-mini/ X8 Announcement and XPERIA Updates Wednesday, June 16th, 2010 Hi all, Previously on this blog we communicated that we will update our 2010 Xperia phones (Xperia X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro) to Android OS 2.1 in Q4. We are today happy to confirm that all of these phones will now get the update to Android 2.1 from the latter part of Q3 and onwards (timing will vary from market to market, some will be in Q4. Please follow this blog for further information with regards to exact timing of the upgrades). We are of course very glad to offer this upgrade earlier than originally planned. Xperia™ X10’s position will also be further strengthened through the addition of HD video recording as part of the same Q3 upgrade. A further upgrade to the Xperia™ X10 in Q4 will make it possible to connect and display wirelessly content on your television and enhance the Timescape™ and Mediascape applications. Today we are also introducing a brand new member to the 2010 Xperia line-up, Xperia X8. This phone takes the best from Xperia X10 and the mini products into a new price point (under 200 Euro Retail) that will give consumers a greater choice and attract a new audience for touch screen Android phones. The user interface is similar to that of the Xperia™ X10 mini, with the four-corners that give easy one hand use and can be customised for one touch access to your favourite applications. Please check this link for specs and images in our press room. The launch release of Android OS for the Xperia™ X8 is still to be determined. As the improved timing for Android 2.1 availability now coincides with the launch window for Xperia X8, we are currently discussing with our customers the most appropriate way to bring the product to market for each operator in each country. As customer testing has already started in a number of markets it is important that we preserve the robustness of the launch whilst ensuring a compelling user experience. XperiaTM X8 will either launch on Android 1.6 with a subsequent upgrade to Android 2.1 a few weeks later or will launch on Android 2.1. The final decision will be taken on a market-by-market basis. And if you haven’t had enough of interesting news today, please continue to read…..we are also pleased to introduce Sony Ericsson Yendo™ with Walkman™. As I am sure you are all aware we’ve had massive success with our Walkman phones since the first one was launched to market in 2005 (W800). To date we have sold over 140 million Walkman phones (Q1 2010). The music phone offering is still a highly relevant concept in many markets across the world and Walkman phones remains in the Sony Ericsson portfolio to target those consumers. We are currently launching Sony Ericsson Zylo and Spiro Walkman phones to market and today, as mentioned, we add Sony Ericsson Yendo™ with Walkman™, our first full touch Walkman phone. For full specs and images please click here. And finally, for those who are on the look for more traditional Sony Ericsson form and functionality we give you Sony Ericsson Cedar™. Sony Ericsson Cedar™ targets consumers who are looking for an easy way to stay connected at an affordable price. The phone offers consumers fast and easy browsing capabilities with features such as HSDPA and easy access to e-mail and social networking sites. In line with the our GreenHeart™ commitment, Sony Ericsson Cedar™ features various green credentials such as recycled plastics, a low power consumption charger, an e-manual, waterborne paint and compact packaging. 3.2MP camera is relly a downgrade, even worse than 5MP from mini
for the 3" screen, its acceptable la, as SE already mention, this phone is in between x10(4") & x10 mini(2.55"), so get x10 if u want big screen.. but its really slow for SE to upgrade to 2.1 or even 2.2, i think its becos it take alot of time for SE to modify it, as u can see the android on x10 is much different from others... |

QUOTE(ijat91 @ Jun 16 2010, 11:24 PM) i know it have capacitive screen but can it support multi touch? X10 although have capacitive screen, it doesnt support you mean like those pinch effect to zoom in and out? Well.. sometimes I wonder, even though this capability looks fancy and cool but we need to put the phone down on a table or something. We cant use one hand to do multi touch can we? and thats defeat the purpose of a phone actually. multitouch at all... But I do agree when the phone gets bigger like the X10, it should have that technology. But the X10 mini and X8, hmmmm perhaps the single finger type as develope by SE is much better choice for zooming in and out. See the video below. |

i assume its price will be around RM 1.4-1.5k, which is similar to the price of vivaz now, and by the time x8 launch, vivaz's price may drop to 1.2-1.3k, but vivaz have much better spec in hardware, so, unless u want android, its better to get vivaz.
