I had groin pull due to playing badminton sometimes last year. I was told to rest for 2 months by my GP. I rested for 3 months, then went for a game after that and realised that the pain is still there!!!

It didnt help that I spent a week travelling after the relapse. As you know, travel requires walking but I couldnt last more than half an hour on my legs however I pushed on till it it affected my hip bone/waist area (at the back). And the only thing that I put on it that time was Hisamitsu Salonpas Air Spray....

The pain is a real b*i*tch and I still have it till now...The pain is located right in between where the thigh meets the pubic area (only right leg affected)... These days, I'd be able to walk normally for 5 minutes before I could feel the slow onset of dull pain at first, the leg feels like locked. I've tried to shorten my strides. Didn't work. I tried to kill the pain by taking Ibuprofen while walking - it masked the pain at the actual location, then the pain travels to my knee, and I'd feel the leg muscle become strained so I gotta waddle like a duck!

Having done alot of Googling, I believe what i need is an Osteopathic therapy. Anyone who has used the service of good and honest Osteopath in KL area, do share on this thread or via PM. I prefer recommended-only contacts smile.gif and if its not too much to ask, also specialises in pelvic instability.

(No chiropractor please).

Thanks...

Osteopaths? you'll get those in US, not Malaysia. Find yourself an Orthopedic specialist/surgeon.... and of course NO CHIROPRACTORS.

Why? See this: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry33584331

Finally, its so hard searching for one! Can you email me your address and phone number so I could make an appointment!

Added on July 19, 2010, 4:21 pmI am looking for one as well, as I have been receiving on going treatment with my osteopathy practitioner back in Adelaide up till now. And I swear by it, it works the best for me.

I've had herniated disc injury for almost 3 years now. I had a bad fall and my L4/L5 is exhausted and the bulge is amazingly big. Imagine the pain and suffering I went it was a living hell!

I tried seeing the chiropractor and it made me worst! DO NOT GO TO ONE, IF YOU HAVE A SEVERE BACK PAIN. With all due respect to them, but honestly I think their "cracking" and "pulling" is abit hardcore for my injury.

I tried physio, but nothing happened and it was damn expensive.

But finally, I tried osteopathy. And it was a gift from heaven. The deep tissue massage really made the straining on my lower back less and the soft pulling and cracking made it bearable. After that I felt light and I could run! I am not 100% healed but I am able to do what I could do 3 years before. On the scale to 10, its definitely a 9 for me!

Please drop me your email/phone number and address if you know one! Thanks!

Hi,

I am a newbie here. I was surprised not many members here could give you the info you are so desperately looking for. There is only one company that provides osteopathy in Malaysia and they have two branches:

OneOsteo Plaza Damas - Block L1-10, Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas

OneOsteo Puchong - Suite E1-2, Setiawalk, Puchong

Email: oneosteo@gmail.com

facebook: osteopath-Kuala Lumpur

Tel: 03 - 6730 4946

Nicolas Grimaldi is the founder of One Osteo and opened his center in Plaza Damas since 2012.

Please call for an appointment and you will not regret it.

Can anyone advise me what is the difference between osteopath and chiro?

Why is chiro and osteopath works for different people, is it due to different type of condition? I see a lot of similarities and overlapping between both.

I am having neck pain c2,3,4 so i hope to get some opinion before i decide to go chiro or osteopath. thanks

Ouch, ouch, ouch! Besides Osteopathy - have you considered the Bowen Technic? It's very gently. May be of help! We now have a Bowen therapist in Malaysia which is pretty amazing.

Until today im still not very sure how does osteopathy treatments work and what are they like despite watching some videos online.. Anyone care to share more with me? Im intending to seek consultation from an osteopath before deciding whether to proceed with it not. And at the same time im quite curious to learn more about it even if i dont go for any treatment by an osteopath ..

17th February 2017, I went to One Osteo to see a senior practitioner and all i can i say i am very disappointed.

I have a nerve compression problem on my spine causing my right hands to have problem functioning well.

When I went there I go into the practitioner room straight away and explain to him what went wrong with me. Then he asks me to lay down and he starts to touch my back, neck, and back of my head while tilting my head very gently and slowly. He spends like 30minutes examining me touching here and there behind my back....seem legit right?

After that, He did an adjustment to my back then ask me to go home and relax because I am too tense. (Of course, i am tense because I am in pain with the nerve compression)

Lastly, I proceeded to walk out and pay a bill of RM 315 just for that. While waiting for the cashier, it came across my mind that I would like to know which specific area he did the adjustment. So I return back to his room and ask him...and he couldn't answer me until I ask him back is it vertebra T1 and T2. He looks at me with confusion and simply just say "Yeah is around there".

That was the moment of truth where I realize is just bunch of bullshit he did to me.

FOR MORE INFORMATION, He did not adjust my T1 or T2 but simply push around my upper area and give it a crack sound then call it a day.

I am sharing this so becareful and see a proper doctor but not practitioner like this to waste your money.

Who attended to you? Basically I'm looking for osteopathy for my back pain but after reading your review, seems like it's not working for everyone.
