First time into CCTV here, anyone can recommend a good CCTV company that provides reliable service and installation?

I have all the wiring done, just need the cameras and the DVR.

My location is in KL.

Thanks. notworthy.gif

I notice that most package selling in the market now consists of 4 'eyes' at least.. So, that would need a 4 wiring points. My question is, are these 'eyes' using a Cat5(Lan cable) or just normal wiring point?

Pls help as I want to get my house ready for installation , it is under reno right now.

for analog camera, use RG-59 or twist pair wire ( tel / cat 5 cable) from camera signal to your DVR location, point to point.
for IP / megapixel camera,use cat 5/6, P to P.

camera power supply can be normal 13A S/S/O near the camera point or use any 2 core for D.C supply (normally 12V) from cam point to your DVR location, adapter install nearby the DVR.

if u r not sure what cam to use then install cat5/6 cable for the cam signal & use video balun to connect( if analog cam is use) signal tru the data cable.

If we need to view CCTV via the internet or phone, is the need to subscribe to TM fixed line the only solution?

Hi, I think i certainly will use IP camera (this is the one that could allow me to connect to Internet to monitor?) , so Cat 5/6 has to be installed on each camera points?

My Contractor quoted me RM220 each point and I'm not sure if he knows that cat5/5e/6 is necessary instead of just normal power cable...

Do you have a diagram to share with me so that i can show it to my contractor?

Tkjs.

ip camera or analog camera both can monitor tru internet, with DVR card & software ( PC base DVR).

standalone DVR with network port also can view tru internet.

all signal cable (RG59/ Cat5e/ cat6/ tel twist pair wire) & power supply are POINT TO POINT, still need diagram hmm.gif hmm.gif

if u lay Cat5/6 cable, will allow u to select ip cam/ analog cam later

My contractor charge me RM115 for a network point + power point, I supply the cat6 cable (RM30), and I can install the IP camera myself.

Hi, IP Camera differs from normal camera?

I suppose IP camera can use the Cat5/6 cable, but for other camera only the RG59 is usable right? Please enlighten.

Ip cam can be analog cam, CCD or CMOS with lan connection.
Megapixel cam is digital.

Normal analog cam can connect Via Cat5/6/ any twist pair cable with video balun

So, does this mean you have to leave your computer on for 24 hrs? or is there a way to leave the Streamyx on only without switching on the computer?

If you use ur computer as recording server u have no option to leave it on, but if u r using standalone dvr just leave the modem on 24 hrs.

Try calling him. He did the installation for my CCTV and I love his job. He's a very patient guy and he know what he's doing therefore I dare to recommend him to others. Btw, he's from Klang.
