for analog camera, use RG-59 or twist pair wire ( tel / cat 5 cable) from camera signal to your DVR location, point to point.
for IP / megapixel camera,use cat 5/6, P to P.

camera power supply can be normal 13A S/S/O near the camera point or use any 2 core for D.C supply (normally 12V) from cam point to your DVR location, adapter install nearby the DVR.

if u r not sure what cam to use then install cat5/6 cable for the cam signal & use video balun to connect( if analog cam is use) signal tru the data cable.

Some LINK for info & to check on CCTV prices smile.gif

QUOTE(numbertwo @ Jul 26 2010, 09:57 AM)
Hi, I think i certainly will use IP camera (this is the one that could allow me to connect to Internet to monitor?)  , so Cat 5/6 has to be installed on each camera points?

My Contractor quoted me RM220 each point and I'm not sure if he knows that cat5/5e/6 is necessary instead of just normal power cable...

Do you have a diagram to share with me so that i can show it to my contractor?

Tkjs.

ip camera or analog camera both can monitor tru internet, with DVR card & software ( PC base DVR).

standalone DVR with network port also can view tru internet.

all signal cable (RG59/ Cat5e/ cat6/ tel twist pair wire) & power supply are POINT TO POINT, still need diagram hmm.gif hmm.gif

if u lay Cat5/6 cable, will allow u to select ip cam/ analog cam later

Ip cam can be analog cam, CCD or CMOS with lan connection.
Megapixel cam is digital.

Normal analog cam can connect Via Cat5/6/ any twist pair cable with video balun
