Does anyone have any suggestions on how to feed vitamin c to Guinea Pigs? I don't wanna use the water-soluble vitamin C cos it makes their water taste funny. But when I break up the vitamin C pills into small bits. I find it hard to feed the guinea pigs. They don't seem to want to eat it.

mix it with ur pig vege lor.. put into water nia la.. no problem de.. taste funny i taste b4 le wor.. not much different.. how much u put la? 1000cc ah? i use powder type though so half spoon(icecream spoon, those small 1) per 500ml nia.. if u use pill type .. u need to crush it also.. so more work..better off buy powder type straight..

guys... i got something quite emergency to ask..
i hv a baby GP which onli 5 weeks old now..
now the mom stop feeding the baby already..
but this few days i realise the baby is getting thinner and thinner..
and seems like VERY weak..
coz wen the dad playing around wit the mom and accidentally push the baby,the baby flip upside down and dont even hv the power to push around his own body..
im very very worry as i feed him wit alfafa but he just dont touch it at all..
anyone know why is he acting lik this?
anyone know what can i do now??
i plan to feed him manually with maybe some dutch lady milk.. but i saw from website they say GP cnt be feed wit milk..
what can i do?? can teach mi asap? coz he was getting realli very weak nw..
and i cn actualli feel his back bone which makes mi feel like crying...

no la.. they only get the stock that i order.. anyway .. if u wanna get fresh timothy u can try the pet store at SUNGAI WANG since they only open the shop in this few months thier hays is rather pretty fresh .. i bought 1 box from them it smells very nice and Yuki mouth so susah to satisfy also she love it


yingtsze .. you must seperate the mother and father if not the mother pregnant again the mother might die due to pregnancy dificulty .. and the mother too busy play with the father might neglected the baby

besides that the baby still young being violated by the father like that might hurt him/her .... the baby need to learn how to eat by looking at the parents ... so if the parent too busy entertaining each other who to teach the baby??

Normally baby 3 weeks old is considered mature to separate from the parents. And yours is already 5 weeks old still doesn't know how to eat by its own. Something not right....

Could it be something wrong with its jaw/teeth, that unable to eat on its own? Try to feed fresh veg or fruit and see, if it still doesn't know how to eat...then you have to keep at eye on it 24x7. GP doesn't eat more than 12 hours, the digestive system will shut down waiting for sayonara.

the baby know how to eat.. he just doesnt like alfafa at all.. he eats pellet and timothy onli.. i guess he doesnt like the taste or wt..
ya.. guess i shud separate them now.. coz his father and mother very rude.. wen they eat also tolak here tolak there..

Added on July 3, 2010, 12:14 pmnah.. he know how to eat... it just he doesnt eat alfafa.. i usualli giv him timothy pellets and alfafa.. but he just finish the timothy and pellet.. alfafa he doesnt touch at all..
cn he eat fresh veg or fruit?? cn he drink milk?? coz wt i suspect is.. his mom stop milking him too earli.. then he is lack of calsium or sth..
im realli ver worry now.. i cnt even sleep properly.. i will sudenli wake up in the middle of the bnight just to feed him eat more and more.. scare he get hungry or sth..
wt else i cn do?? teach mi plz..

sweetiewawa go to Dr Yeoh .. dont go MyVet ady .. they dont have a doc specialise in small animals jor ....

and petshop is open 7days a week...

hello.. at the baby age .. she not suppose to take timothy as her main hay source, you feeding the pellets is alfalfa base or timothy base for the baby??? it suppose to be alfalfa base .. what u can try is just give her the alfalfa leave see whether she consume it ... no more timothy for the baby ... as timothy dont really promote the baby growth ..

like my baby she dont eat the alfalfa sticks she only prefer on leaves ... timothy is very leave base ... not much sticks so they will like it better ..but still start feeding only alfalfa leaves to her without the stick and see how she respond... just giving u an idea to try on...

Crys, i thought that Dr.Jenny moved to another clinic..i see..& i just called DR.Vellayan for that..but he told me to go to his house..weird..n i check on the internet bout him..n i found a case bout him..i decided not to go to him.. :sweat

1 more thing.i read tht Dr.Yeoh clinic's service is quite expensive..so, if i want to bring my 3 GP for normal check up..i think it will cost me about RM200++..

To tell u d truth.. gp after 1 week can eat wat ever an adult pig can eat d.. Urs is 5 week old liao no need milk.. if u got an blender.. Jus blend the pellet and add some warm water and syringe feed him.. U can also feed him with vege and fruit.. Take a view at front page for d list of vege and fruit..
